Q's

What is the official name for this part and what is the part no as I have lost the inner circle

How the heck do you put it in so its set, as I can get the large circle in between the plastic and glass but the small one doesn't go in, any technique?

The part is just called 'Pin'.  It comes as one part and you break it into two pieces. Part number is 6N0839511

Just as an FYI, I found the only way I could refit this pin was to build the pin first then chap it in with a ratchet extension and a small hammer.  Basically something narrow enough to fit through the gap and large enough to strike both parts at the same time.

Just in case anyone else has this problem re inserting the rear window pin.

I seem to remember that the official technique for refitting the glass is to fit the pins first, with glass up out of the way, then the glass pops down over them.

Nah, that's wrong, you fit the pins into the glass first, then pop that combo into the lifter mech, I think.

Someone'll be along soon with a better memory...
