Inheriting my late granddad's Skoda Felicia 1.6 in red. Got big plans which I hope will include: Lowering, wheels, 1.6 polo gti engine conversion, big brakes conversion, ICE improvement etc.

Will update the thread as and when I make changes.

Here is the car as its sits now:

Thanks TeflonTom, just need the ecu, loom and engine from the polo? And then fab up a custom engine mount?

Have a read through this thread. The 1.4 16v Afh goes in very easily, they have around 100bhp and if you want it can be done as a 1.6 16v which would have around 125bhp.

Thanks nu99et18, I have read it through a couple of times, but as he used a different head and experimented as he went along, I was unsure on what to do for sure. I'm planning on the 1.6 16v swap and as I have the 1.6 8v, I'm hoping I don't need much from other cars.

Also anyone got any recommendations regarding which wheels to choose. I was thinking standard but if I want bigger brakes then I'm going to need at least 14"s. I was looking at these:

I do like steel wheels though so If anyone knows of any deep dish steelies, let me know. :)

Cheers.

Looking at these rims now:

http://www.extremeoffsetwheels.com/page3.html

Currently in contact with the manufacturer to see if custom wheels can be made to fit the felicia.

The most offset they can offer on 6j and 7j rims are 23 and 28 respectively.

Anyone more clued up on rims know if they'd fit?

Thanks.

Fate has intervened and i'm selling my mk1 Eunos due to funds.

As a result, I checked eBay for front mk1 focus coilovers and rear mk3 golf coilovers. By absolute luck, there were both sets individually and i managed to pick them up for £175 all in!

So now, i'm looking at fitting the focus fronts. Read about having the hub machined out (around 4mm?). What else to fit them does anyone know?

Also looking at fitting 20mm hub centric spacers until i find some nice wheels.

Then engine swap with AVY hopefully... when money permits.

look at the Tom's 1.8t thread. He changed the breaks too, front and rear. You will probably find some good info there.

As for the engine it's a bit difficult to fit an entire AVY engine. It has a VVT system that Will work only with it's original ECU and the ECU it has doesn't talk to the felicia immo box.

That's why he used an AFH head on an AVY block.

Quick update, bought some 'baby' Borbet A's 14" wheels with tyres.

Ordered sierra calipers, Kia Rio mk2 discs and Mintex pads.

Coilovers to go on soon too.

Wheels fit, luckily. Car has passed its MOT. Few bits and pieces to go on like the wheel bearings, top mounts, clutch cable. Full service until the AFH is bought.

Coilovers will be tackled tomorrow along with the brakes.

I will get pictures when I can.

Here as it's sitting now:

Not adjusted the coilovers properly, just put on there.

Few bits and pieces to do still.

Think I've been sold sierra 4x4 calipers as they don't fit apparently.

Big brakes still to fit. Will look at mk1 mondeo calipers instead.

ARB upgraded to 22mm from a VW caddy.

5x7" speakers ready to install somewhere - probably the parcel shelf.

Rear wheels require some spacers but the 20mm hubcentric ones I have are too aggressive. May look into hub spacers as I have seen done on here by another member.

Reconditioned mk1 mondeo calipers arrived. So all new front brakes ready to go on - just waiting for the slider bolts.

Need AFH engine and straight through exhaust.

Replaced the 1.6 above with the 1.3 LX below. Bought at 70k-ish and now currently at 90k miles.

Fitted coilovers, wheels and 22mm ARB from my red 1.6.

Someone in a VW T5 hit this one and so I need a new NS wing.

Spacers and big brakes (256mm) ready to go on.

Going up near Newcastle next weekend to collect my AFH engine. Still need the 1.6 bits, should have thought ahead and got them from the 1.6 that was written off!
