Rattle & Hum - Not U2 :)

500 miles on my new Yeti 2.0 Tdi (110) and will heading back to dealer for a look at some problems...

"Rattles" - Sounds like the front screen is going to fall out on the sightest bump in the road.  Has got progressively worse in last two days, now drowning out the rattle in the door pillar on the drivers side :(  My guess is the wiring loom to the ligting panel in the roof is loose and is causing both noises.

Also have small rattle from somewhere in the instrument panel area :(

"Hum" - I have been driving diesels for about 15 years - 4 VAG's in that time and understand that the DPF goes into Regen mode somtimes after doing short journeys, but have never noticed any of my previous Golfs do that.  Today the car had a long (80 Mile) run, returning home after a few days holiday.  On stopping at home prior to unloading there has a seriously bad "Hum" from the car.  I am assuming its the adblue but after killing the ignition the smell persisted and seemed it was being blown to the rear of the vehicle by a fan which as running with the ignition off.

I'm baffled as never have encountered anything like it before, so hope you guys can shed some light on this?

On the plus side I love driving the Yeti - just hope it is not a Fri afternoon car - I had one of those in the past - inumerable problems, a real rogue car :(

I had the same the problem a rattle from the dash and above the glove bow, so I took the car in at 500 miles. they found that it was the Air bag fixings were loose.

Now my Yeti is 3 and half years old no more problems so far. I hope. and no rattles from the doors.

Chilley - that sounds encouraging that the sorted it out for you and you have had no further problems.  Kind of worrying though that a safety feature that is desigend to help save you from serious injury had loose fittings

It will be interesting to see what they discover.

My Yeti developed an annoying rattle from the front o/s coming from what sounded like the area of the A pillar but only on some road surfaces Took ages to work out what it was and it topped up to be the parking ticket holder rattling against the windscreen. Wrapped some cling film round it and rattle gone.

x19 - that may well be the cause of the low level rattle I was hearing before the headlining rattle drowned it out.  I'll check that one out when they have looked at the others.
