Cannondale Super X carbon bike (REDUCED)

It's a 2015 Cannondale Super X full carbon frame in immaculate condition (apart from one small paint chip on the fork near the dropout. Frame size is 58 cm which would suit someone around 6' 2" or thereabouts.

It has SRAM Rival hydraulic shifters and disc brakes with DoubleTap system (which is better IMO than the Shimano equivalent) and SRAM Rival front mech (with yaw) & rear mech. It is in totally standard spec.

I've had this for about 6 months and covered less than 300 miles on it on the roads around my house and a few light trails (green routes / family trails) but I'm finding the shape / geometry a little too aggressive / race orientated for me. I have cleaned it after every ride (not hat it has got that dirty on the roads).

I bought it because it is a fantastic bike with exceptional reviews (which it is) and I used to race MTB and triathlon. But that was about 20 years ago and in the time I've had it my body doesn't want to go back to the more extreme position of this bike.

I paid £2000 for it and the cheapest I can find online is £1800 so my asking price of £1500 is very reasonable and means that I can buy a slightly more relaxed frame CAAD X.

I'll post pictures as soon as I can, but a quick Google will show what it is like - a lovely blue colour - and bring up the spec list.

PM me if interested.

It certainly is!

I think I'm too old and it was too long ago that I raced to get back into the right position on this for two hour+ rides.

Maybe if have got away with a 56cm frame instead. Swaps anyone?

Or swap for a 58cm 2016 CAAD X Ultegra.

Or p/x for a 58cm 2015 CAAD X SRAM Rival.

I'd take a sensible offer close to the asking price...

£1200.

I can't believe how much I'm losing! It's only a few months old...

It's a terrible thing (the depreciation) unless it's something really popular.  You might get some more interest if you inserted your photos directly into this thread.

I have a Salsa X-Country MTB.  They were AUD6000 back in 2010 (I doubt anyone ever bought for that price).  I bought the "review/road test" unit that the magazines had been using.  It was 9 months old and still immaculate and I paid AUD1500.

Can you do something with the seat post layback / offset or head stem to make the bike a bit more comfy?  It might be cheaper to buy some parts rather than sell the bike.

I was right at the limit for my medium frame (It's about 20mm too big) which was fine for 90% of my riding but a bit scary for steep downhill sections.  I cut the seat post 30mm and fitted an extended head stem to get more weight over the front wheel and make the cockpit a bit more relaxed.

Worth a thought.

Nice thought. I'll add pictures to this thread later.

I've played around with seat posts but still can't get far enough forwards; which is the big problem. If I could get better located over the pedals I'd consider swapping other components out as it is such a great bike otherwise.

Yes I have tried a good LBS, it basically revolves around me not being able to get far enough forward over the pedals.

Something changing the stem won't fix and an inline seat post doesn't totally achieve either.

I could put an inline post in and accept its not quite perfect, but I'd rather get things right as I intend spending quite a bit of time on it.

A 56cm frame would probably have been OK and a 58cm CAADX is fine. Hence I'd probably go with the latter if/when I can sell this SuperX...
