Front near side wheel bearing kit

Hello folks,

I've just had my o/s front wheel bearing replaced, costing me £214. The mechanic has informed me that I need the other one doing. Now it turns out my brother has a mechanic friend who owes him a favour so he will do it after hours at his garage.

The thing is I want to save some cash on the parts. I need a o/s front wheel bearing hub and ABS sensor. When I look at the main car parts dealers they cost from £50 and £30 each but when I look on Ebay I can get both parts for less than £40. These are generic parts.

There is an issue though when I emailed the Ebay supplier they said they cannot be 100% sure it is the correct part without me supplying the original part number. Problem is I don't know how to find this out. Can anybody advise me please?

My car is a Skoda Fabia 1.2 Estate 2003. Reg: HX03 DKK.

Many thanks, Kevin.

I have now learnt my lesson of buying wheel bearings from off EBay, maybe they are OK from Skoda dealers on EBay but budget priced ones from other sources are, if like mine were, Chinese rubbish. Both rears lasted 3 days, I ended up buying from my local motor factors, who have to ensure their normal customers receive good quality parts.

stick to the likes of FAG? SKF, etc.. might be worth looking on euro car parts website to give you an idea of decent names.

Ive fitted a few of the Orbit bearings from them now and been fine for 2 years +

Thanks for the info folks, much appreciated. How about Comline parts? They appear to be a big company. Does anyone have any experience with them?
