Hello matey.

Yep - you've come across a pretty common problem. Once they've been in a while, those sensors just don't wanna come out.

There are a few different ways of trying to remove them, but to be honest I have found that when they're seized in, you just have to get all 'no more Mr. nice guy' on their asses!

I've done two on my Octy now, and my tools for removal are: a gas blowtorch, and a ****** screwdriver :D  Just blast it with flame until the plastic starts to melt, and then attack it with a screwdriver. It will melt, the guts will start to come free (basically a huge amount of tiny, wound copper cable) and you have to just keep on going with the flame and the screwdriver until the whole thing is destroyed, and you've poked all the detritis from out of it's hole (oo-er).

Don't forget to give the hole a good clean out afterwards - use a Dremel with a sanding bit, or wind in a drillbit that's exactly the same size as the hole. You want it clean enough so that the new sensor slides in easily. If it's not sliding in, then don't force it - you don't want to jam the new sensor in halfway and then get it stuck or you'll have to muller the new one to get it out again.

I also smear the new sensor with high melting-point Molybdenum grease too, just in case I need to get it out again in the future.

Good luck!
