Help with part numbers

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

I'm still getting to grips finding parts in the VAG world.  Can anyone provide me with a good site that helps me quickly and easily find parts for my vehicle? There are so many engine versions and parts revisions I find it confusing finding the right #.

For my 59 plate FL 2 VRS, I particularly need these parts, in preparation for inlet valve cleaning and other DIY tasks:

  • Inlet manifold gasket
  • fuel injector seals
  • OEM Cabin filter
  • OEM Air filter

Also need recommendations for these items

  • Fuel injector removal tool
  • Sea foam/Carb cleaner or the likes
  • Oil filter removal tool
  • Any other tools needed...

First thing you need to know is what is your engine code.  This is a three or four-letter code which appears on car data stickers, and on V5 document I think, sometimes on a sticker near the cambelt cover too.

I'm at work. Is there a way I can check online if I know my reg and V5C number?
