skoda fabia mk2 1.2 HTP 44kw 2011

Recommended Posts

This is my second fabia, which is driven by my father. It was bought in 2013 from the first owner with 30 000km, now it has 53 000km. I did change the projector headlights and fitted 6000K HID, led and cree led is almost everywhere, I have a plan to put HID in fog ligths and H7 led in high beam. I installed swing and central armrest and activated staging-needle  . Maybe in future some 16 alloys and 15 steel for the winter. Now it rools on 14 allow summer conti and 14 steel winter Tigar wintera. I will not install LPG in this car. I must say it drives way better than my other fabia, I think the gearbox is different, older fabia rolls on 3000 rpm at 100 km/h in the fifth gear and this fabia on 2600 also 100km/h, fifth gear. Although the engine is the same, HTP, six valves, 44kw. But the engine codes are different, 2007 mk2 has BBM and this one CHFA. some pics

now, let me ask you for advice, as I mentioned, in low beam there is H7 HID, in high beam H7 halogen. It is not so good as pre FL bihalogen, bixenon system. What should I put in place of H7 halogen, something like this maybe

Some decent halogens do the best job. Philips extreme or similar.

Its not that the prefacelift lights are better, theyre just of a different design. Theres only 2 hids on with those.. With the facelift theres 2 hids and 2 halogens. So more light output.

Ive had hids in low and high before n its great, but high takes too long to warm up and soon blows the burner as they dont like cycling on/off.

Not heard of an LED bulb that works properly in high beam yet. They all seem to be a waste of time from what ive heard.

Edit: i did e-mail hids direct about a similar kit as shown in the video above.. They replied to tell me they arent suitable for use in low or high beam as they dont give a usable beam pattern

Its not too much different if youve got decent halogens in. Slightly different shade of light though depending on colour temp.

4300k are best for light output and matching.

we are members of our local skoda fan club, and we work together when exploring new ideas:)  I bought the chinese multimedia in my other fabia, he wanted to see how it works, and he also bought it for his car.:)

it costed me a lot to change all LED and HID bulbs in my both cars. I didnt want to buy from e bay bacause I wanted to try bulbs instantly when buying them, I gave 600 euros. I know it could be far more cheap on e bay, but if the bulb is wrong or I am not satisfied how it shines, it is complicated to ship back to sender:)

I put HIDs 6000K in fog lights. Factory says H8, and OEM were H8 osram halogen, but the chinese H11 did the job, it was a match. I dont know how will they behave in fog conditions, there was no fog since my upgrade. I drive them during night conditions and they are excellent. It is against the rules to drive with fog lights when no fog, but so far no problems:) it is powerfull:). Metal frames for licence plates, and extreme LED interior lighting:). I also did winter tyre replacement on this and other fabia.

I would like to change summer wheels and go to 16 rims. I found decent 16 rims 7J 16 ET 43 from ibiza for 200 euros. But original for fabia like Atria or Elba is 6,5 J 16 ET 43. Is there a diference between 6,5 J and 7J, thanks guys

fitted. I decided to buy trhe cheapest tyre, I would like to try them for a couple of years. A brand of mischelin, tygar syneris, 205 45 ZR16 87W, 40 euros per piece. The only dilema-original rim is 6,5J16 ET 43 and this rim is 7J16ET43, tyre size OEM is 205 45 16, would there be problems for suspension?
