Sorry if this unit has been discussed elsewhere, has anyone installed this unit in a MK1 Superb. Looks good value at £150

These Chinese clone units can have issues with battery drain, radio quality, audio quality and general build quality. My brother has a similar unit in his B6 Passat. Looks nice enough, but the buttons feel cheap, it has some audible alternator whine, and the FM radio is quite bad. His seems OK from battery drain point of view.

Unfortunately, unless you can find someone who has the exact unit you won't know the detail as there are lots that look similar and are made by different outfits.

Some further research has led to the majority of reviews questioning the quality of the radio in particular, love my radio so for now i'm stuck with the blaupunkt carolina. I did get a splitter cable for the cd changer input so I can also run an mp3 player, the changer keeps playing but audio switches. Have since found a splitter cable from Germany which is switched.
