Driver side door issue

Hi, I recently purchased a late 13 reg Fabia vRS and loving it, however I've noticed that the driver side front door doesn't sit flush with the rest of the car, the passenger side is perfect and the rear doors are perfect but not sure if winds just caught it real bad with pervious owner. I can add couple pics later to illustrate better. I'm not sure what to do about it, car is still under warranty but not sure if it's more a thing you'd need a body work place to look at or weather just to leave it alone all together.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated, thanks

Best look into a Body repair shop and ask them to look, the door might just need re-aligned.

I take it you have inspected the door seals closely.

I take it you mean the Manufacturers Warranty is still running, but that is not going to cover any damage by some accident,

and i take it where you bought the car never noticed or ignored the door issue, as you failed to notice it.

Get a professional opinion first and see if the door just needs fitting correctly.

Is it just sitting a bit proud or is it also stiff? If it's the former then it's an easy fix of adjusting the striker plate. The latter needs hinge realignment which means a whole days work taking the dashboard out to get at the upper hinge.

Did you buy it from a Skoda dealer?  If so then there should be no quibbles from them to fix it at no cost to you.

The door sticks out about 5mm at the top, purchased it from private dealer, took the car to my local Skoda dealer, car is still technically under warranty, they checked the hinges and door they said it's probably just the way it was made in the factory, they said they could order new door but no guarantee it'll be any different. So took it to body shop the dude just bent it in so looks great now

I also have the same problem with my Fabia. There is a gap along the top of the door and the bottom of the door is closer than it should be. I tried to correct this by moving in the striker pin but then when opening the back door it was catching on the front one so I had to set it back. Meanwhile there is a lot of wind noise and a leak.

I thought there might be a hinge adjustment screw but can't see anything. Before I start bending my door does anybody know of a way to adjust the hinges from the inside of the car? is there something you can use to move the top hinge pin closer to the car chasis?

Thanks,

Mike

I don't know whether the doors have captive nuts on the inside but if they have, you should mark round the hinges and then undo the top and bottom bolts carefully so the hinges will just move, shut the door carefully, then push and pull the door in and out till it's level. Open the door gently, nip the bolts up and check the gaps. It might take a few attempts and if this doesn't work you can put the hinges back to your marks and try bending the door. It does sound, though, that moving the door on the hinges may work.
