No Low Beam On Car

Recommended Posts

Hello Briskodians!

Picked up my new 2005 Skoda Fabia yesterday and drove home to realise i don't believe my low beam is working? Turning the switch to the low beam makes the low beam light come on in the dash and all other lights work fine so i dont believe its the switch, have checked the fuses visually and they seem okay. I have also tried the main beam-low beam lever 'stalk' trick of pulling it slightly forward to see if that made a difference but not joy. Obviously first port of call is the bulb which i shall replace at lunch but if that fails any other ideas?

Thanks

It still seems that electrical fault finding is something of a black art to some folks, as this case demonstrates. No dip beam- but we have mains. So there's a loss of volts from dip switch to lamps. Easiest place to check- lamp holder.is it getting 12 V-YES- Lamps dud. No- wiring problem - possibly fuse.

In my experience, if one goes, the other tends to follow quickly.

15...17'000km left / 23...25'000km right > H7 standard Osram, Bosch etc. bulbs- that's how long they lasts on my Fabia during last 9 years.
