Yeti Headlights

I have  a new Yeti with xenon headlights, when the vehicle is used in the rain condensation appears  at the bottom of the light it disappears when left for a few hours. Is this normal???

Yes.

 

If the inside temp is warm and the outside temp drops quickly condensation forms.

 

In fact with VW its noted in the manual.

Thanks Donj  I have had an xtrail with xenon which did not do this must be a VW characteristic

It is actually mentioned as not a problem in the Handbook.

TIBET III (FL L&K) does it occasionally - small price to pay for the phenomenal lighting!

I only noticed this last week on mine, along the bottom of the headlights where the Led driving light strip is.

If car is wet from washing or rain, water gathers under the headlight there and looks like it is inside it.

Guess that's pretty normal

noticed this on my yeti as well and thought something was wrong. Decided to let it be as the car was brand new and sometimes these things settle after a bit of use. The fact that it's winter and the temperature is all over the place is clearly relevant.

If all fails read the instructions..........its in the handbook, this is quite normal. It also tells you not to wash the headlights with anything but a SOFT material, why ?, because they are coated.

I have read through the 'handbook' and have been to 'specsavers', I do not dispute that there is mention of headlamp condensation in the book but I have not found it, have you a page ref please KTM

on, the light outlet surfaces are free from mist after a short period, although the

Not looked at a facelift Yeti, but I was surprised with mine to see that there are a row of vents on the inner edge that are open to the air. Only found out when I found a dead bee in the headlight last summer, and couldn't work out how it had got in.

Have a look at the bottom left of page 64.

Page 64 in my Operating instructions is all about  sliding/tilting roof!!

If you are looking at the Sunroof on page 64 have a look under Lights and Visibility 2 pages further on.
