1.4 TDI 70HP vs 75/80HP technical differences? - maps appear the same

Recommended Posts

Has anyone any idea of the technical differences in the 70 vs 75/80hp 1.4 TDI's to give 114 vs 144 lb/ft of torque.  I have opened the ECU map of all 3 versions in EDC15P and, while not looking in great depth, the maps appear the same. I was initially wondering if I could simply just overwrite values from 1 map to the other if differences were found.

I run both a 75 and 80 bhp version TDI - The 75 is more pokey and powerful but the 80 is more economical with both engines set up exactly the same with 00.00 Torsion Values.

-I hope, that in the Fabia1 forum that there's three versions of the 1.4TDI .I never realised that there were as on the online insurance places, all that comes up is the75, and all the paperwork ( Shy of the V5) HAS ALWAYS MENTIONED 75. So- where do I look to check that I've given my insurance company the correct HP. FFS- after a lot of years on the road, I' finding that the folks that should have facts & figures on the vehicle are often lacking.

So far ,they've missed ABS/Thatcham 2 imob/ certain sites have problems finding a Classic model with 75BHP .So I'm beginning to wonder about the integrity /quality of the insurance quoters these days to accurately quote for that model.

Thanks, keith ,but I've stuck my reg into many a comparison site and had it come up as many different versions/specs. E.G -go compare has the vehicle with this reg listed as a Fabia TDI 1422 ,but it could be either a Claasic or Comfort or an Ambienta.

Thanks- mogwye- says AMF, which it also says on the boot sticker. But Haynes only refers to three engines- 3 cyl AMF and 4 cyl 1.9 SOHCtdi & 1.9 DOHC TDI. No mention of output. No mention of the BNV engine. I've just looked for the BNV engine code, and possibly have found an answer. The model shown in photos is the MK2 Fabia.
