Replacement exterior Door Pillar trim

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I'm trying to find some replacement door trims, and I was wondering if anyone has had any success finding them?

I'm after the external black parts (preferably the gloss type) as mine are quite scuffed (11 plate MK2 hatchback), but I cannot seem to find any part numbers for them, so all searches on eBay and parts websites have come up short.

Any help would be greatly appreciated, even if it's a case of not being able to buy the parts!

Cheers,

Are you referring to the trims at the front of the car? (I.E. The front A pillar trim). I know these are replaceable as some have black panels and some have colour coded ones.

If you're after the ones on the door its self it's a thick vinyl sticker. one of them was splitting on my old Fabia so I took it to VASStech and the sticker cost less than £5 and half an hours fitting. I can't help you as to finding the part unless you wanted to go custom and replace all 4 with something different.

You get them at a Skoda Dealership Parts desk,

Some Windscreen Replacement Companies replace them when fitting a replacement screen.

If it is the Foil on the Pillar between the door, then again at the Skoda Parts desk for not lots of money.

I was surprised with the external A pillar ones, about £16 each from main dealer, very reasonable.

Trim for the Fabia doesn't seam to be that unreasonable at all to be honest. I picked up a new top front grill for £23 when I first got the Monte. Bought it to paint the red stripes.

Got the part numbers in there

I did this on my Superb recently due to breaking one on a wall during a strong winds. It's actually pretty easy to do.

Might be worth a call to SkoSpares if you want second hand ones

Now we know it is the Foil / Film.

Be sure to mark where the original is before removing. (Marker Pen.)

Maybe measure the replacement before removing the original, some are a bit off on size IME.

Then it is case of being sure you clean the surface well before fitting the new Film.

Had one of mine replaced under warranty (some corrosion on it) late last year by my Skoda dealer.  So they are available from Skoda.  Seemed an easy enough job for them but no idea of price.

Thanks for more replies!

Does anyone know if the satin and gloss ones are interchangeable across models, or has anyone swapped one type for another?

I rang my local Skoda dealer and got a price from them, but the guy I spoke to said my chassis number only came up with satin, whereas I'd like to replace with gloss to match the windscreen pillars. He was unsure if they were, y'see.
