What clutch to go for?

Looking at getting a new clutch for my Fabia Vrs. I'm looking at either Sachs SRE Clutch and flywheel from ZF Motorsport. it would be a organic disc clutch that I could get for £900 all in but also seen the CG Motorsport 666 kit.

I'm running 230/240bhp and should be around 360lbft. Hoping to get some track days this year but car is a daily.

Any Advice and reviews on either would be gratefully appreciated

Thanks

James

I live in Scarborough and traffic in summer is nightmare don't want something that's going to be a struggle

It does take awhile to build up the leg muscles, it much heavier than a standard clutch lol.

At first it was very on and off but once I got used to it, I find it fine in heavy traffic

Sachs sre is great, i do 400 miles per week and also running similar numbers to you. Ever so slightly heavier than a standard clutch. I have the DS SMF with it also. HTH.

Are you running the Organic Disc? Came across your build thread car looks brill

Organic yes. Oh, and sorry yes I should of mentioned that a strong ish left leg is needed after while it does stay bit firmer than OEM clutch - and I have done roughly 8k miles on mine now. Thanks, my build has been fun but frustrating and too expensive (maybe even more so soon as may need gearbox rebuild but that's a different story!). Go with the Sachs SRE for sure but maybe a standard DMF, unless you love the sound of a knackered tractor sat in stationary traffic in towns etc!

I thought it was the DMF that couldn't cope with the torque? My clutch isn't slipping just don't want the DMF ****ting itself

True to an extent, however if your mapper is good it won't spike like crazy and ruin it. DMF is fine if properly mapped and not running mega power. I went SMF as will be getting injectors this summer and doing quite a few track sessions so a SMF was sensible for me.

not trying to start a war but I went for the CGmotorsport 666 clutch and SMF kit and I've had no issues with it at all and it was quite a bit cheaper than the sachs option. Yes, it does rattle but the way it picks up when moving off and booting it is great

Looked at the CG stuff but heard mixed reviews. Anyone running a DMF? I'm roughly 230bho and 330-370lbft won't know for defo until it's on rollers
