Vision S - The Skoda Kodiaq

Probably been posted before but must say I like it. Looks much better than the boring SEAT version. It also has the perfect hybrid powerplant I've always wanted in my Yeti.

Yes I like that.

It's different and a good move away from the current bland styling.

Shame it's just a concept though.

Minus a few details - the full width light strips front and back - and adding door handles, this is basically the production version. So it is not "just a concept".

And unlike what people were bleating in the other SEAT thread this is NOT the Yeti II. It sits above the next Yeti which will again be current Yeti sized - i.e smaller than a Tiguan.

The lights look a bit fancy for a production car, but other than that it's not going to change much. I like it.

I like that menacing front scowl a lot.

No, you find, Could, should, might, maybe, possibly, Concept, tease nothing in stone, so spin the story and deflect from the current

VW Group issues with not yet starting the Fix.

Keep the brands in the magazines and actually tell the potential buyers little yet.

Which is exactly what concept cars are supposed to do...  I think there's a clue in this one being called a "concept". It is SUPPOSED to entice you and make you think of this without giving you any real details yet. Heck it is not as if they are doing it any differently here than when they launched this concept below in 2005 (also I might add with no real details until about THREE years later): :)

I know that,

which is why ' you'll find all you'll need to know' seems a bit of an overstatement, because the Articles seem to know very little,

but thats just how Skoda do it, pre launch after pre launch.

Insiders, people close to the factory etc,  or just call it like it is,  Skoda Publicity Media Spin Department.

The Vision C was just a concept but look how the new Superb turned out, very similar.

Replace those fancy lights with the Superb ones and it's virtually there imo.

LOL. Well I should have said "find all Škoda allows you to know at this stage" then. :) But the I honestly that went without saying.

They will make things clearer in due course. It will be a more or less a copy of the Seat in terms of tech and engines. And there's plenty of info on that on the internet already.

What Skoda CZ will be able to do is release when the time comes the EU Test Results for Co2 which are correct for the vehicles and the engines,

unlike the Euro 6 figures from VW, SEAT & Audi that are being corrected up from the irregularities as they were given up to now.

By the time the Kodiak is on sale buyers should know more than they did on weights and emissions & costs,

and hopefully the new Brand Director at Skoda UK will have the Dealership Employees fully trained up on all matters Skoda,

Standard and Options and Connectivity etc.

I remember the day the picture appeared of the blue Yeti 'concept' and I proclaimed that I would have one to replace my Mk 1 Fabia vRS.

There are plenty of similarities between that 'concept' and the production Yeti. I'm sure it'll be much the same when the production Kodiak breaks cover.

The secondary lights below the main lights have been talked about a lot in connection with the Kodiak so I reckon they'll be there on the 'real' one.

Good to see that there is now a Kodiak section.

All we need now is one for anti Skoda/emission scandal rants. Please keep this thread (and others) on topic and don't go off on yet another whinging soapbox rant spouting the same drivel.

Maybe forget your moans, and rants, i am as interested as anyone in what they finally produce, and with what engines do go in them when they are available, and if it is the TSI ACT, and what Co2 and weights they get them to when it comes to EU Testing and Type Approvals of a whole new Skoda Model.

Skoda/VW seem to think that there isn't likely to be any serious competition in the meantime.

Flagging their styling and packaging intentions so far ahead of release seems to deny reality.

8 - 9 years between models is seriously slow progress by present day standards to me.

If the production car looks very close to the concept and it comes with the option of the 280PS 4x4 engine out of the superb/Leon Cupra I for one will be ordering one.

Really really nice lookin car, hope it turns out to be a tall superb in kit levels

Bring it on. Looks, hybrid performance and economy, and different. Thank God. Can't wait...

Different to the existing Yeti but similar to many of the other SUV's i.e. losing it's individuality.

I like it though but can't see it being cheap or rather as good value for money as the existing one.

Is the SEAT version posted yet? I've seen the Alteca (~4.3m SUV) but not the SEATised Kodiaq (4.7m SUV). Good alternative to a LR Disco Sport I suspect.

The Kodiak is NOT the Yeti II. Hence the clue in its name...

The Kodiak and the Alteca is the exact same car. Which are bigger than the current Yeti and the Yeti II.
