Skoda Fabia Mk2 vRS 'Positive thread' Part 2. (Part 1 was locked.)

Recommended Posts

Car is sitting dirty and was going to get a wash and brush up.

But seeing as it is pouring down, it is away to get a good thrashing instead.

Get the underside cleaned a bit as there is not too much salt about and see how the Summer Spec

99 ron is.

(if that was what was in the Filling Station Tank yesterday.)

PS.

?

Anyone ready to think more on a Mk2 vRS Fabia get together this year. (6th Birthday, 2nd Annual get together.)

Not only vRS's or even Fabias obviously!

Santa Pod maybe?

Maybe a new thread can be started if anyone is looking to do some organising.

I have to say I've owned my VRS for about a month now and I absolutely love it, I love being able to potter about in it, its such an easy car to drive, then when I want to put a smile on my face I just plant the right foot, it really is a very impressive car!!, and very quick in all gears. I tokk it away last weekend and was surprised how versatile it was, and how much crap I was able to pack into it!

Renewed my love for our Fabia vRS this weekend big time! 400+miles driving Cornwall to Castle Combe and back again including blasting it around track and it never missed a beat. Really bonded with the car! Was a great companion for the weekend and it kept up with some more powerful cars on track too. 10.8mpg for the track work haha. The way I feel at the moment I'm considering making this one a "keeper" lol! ;-)

Couldn't buy anything else at this price offering such a blend of practicality and performance. Happy days!

Although I keep having thoughts about stripping the interior, fitting a cage/buckets and a straight-through exhaust hehe!!!

I'd be up for attending, dates permitting! I know I did a fair chunk of the organising for last years one but I'm abit more strapped for time at the moment.... :-(

The main thing is to pick a date I guess! SantaPod is easy to sort as you just then need to contact them to book a clubstand/parking lot and give an indication of numbers attending etc. People just then pay as they go for entry and drag strip runs no deposits etc required :-)

Love mine as much today as I did the day I picked it up. Not long since had its post winter detail and is looking lovely. It's going to have a good run out to Yarmouth for the week on Monday and once I get her home I'm thinking of treating her to a new set of boots. The kumho's currently on are absolute garbage, uniroyal rainsport 3's will be going on unless anyone can recommend a better tyre for that sort of price.

Last week I sorted out some LED's, pressed plates and a boot liner, so after tyres, what's next?

Mpg has stopped bothering me now, 30 average isn't really that bad to say I do very short town journeys and she proved that more is possible the last 2 days running up and down the m1.

Roads are finally dry again from time to time so I can hear that subtle supercharger whine.

I've never had a car I've theorized over and researched this much either, currently got 2-3 mods I'm obsessing over, please help. I'm aupposed to be grown up.

Returned from "up north" and final true mpg..41.4.Four and a half hour three hundred mile dash for home inclusive of wives fag'n'comfort breaks. The trip to the lakes of which the passes were completed in auto mode one way and flappy gears on the return. Happy happy days for the Illness!

Assume you'd get a 12-month (min.) 'Skoda approved' warranty.

However, the mileage would kill it for me - a real leap in the dark.

It is a CAVE engine car and a crazy price really even if only 400 miles covered.

A 2 year Skoda Warranty would be a necessity really even if paying £10,000 for it.  IMO

  • 2 weeks later...

Just found a great stretch of road, winding through the farmlands on an old ravine. Very twisty, the 80km/h speed limit more than enough (in some cases too much unless you want to drive faster than you can see), and a fairly good surface still. Drove it up and down a few times and was reminded how fun this car is. And you know what, I don't think it handled that badly. Maybe I don't *need* a B12-kit and new wheels after all.

Sometimes I read too much and drive too little.

I have not had my vRS for the past 3 weeks and it is away for the next 6 weeks,

now getting withdraw symptoms.

I would like to be taking it out now in the Rain, Sleet and Snow.

Just before I go on holiday next week I'm going to give the vRS a good clean and I thought while I'm at it I want to debadge it, I saw a Monte not long ago which had no "Skoda" and "Fabia" and immediately got a little jealous so are there any tips to removing the "Skoda" and "Fabia" from the boot? Would love a more simplistic rear end.

I am guilty of someone just spoiling a car with superglue,

but any how.

Boil the Kettle and pour boiling or nearly boiling water over the badge.

Or hair dryer  works, (not paint stripper hot blower!!!)

Any way, Fishing Gut, or Dental Floss or plastic spatula or just carefully remove the badge.

Glue remover or alcohol cleans glue / tape residue.

Clean and polish then wax..........     Whats the worst that can happen?

simply get a hairdryer, get the badges super hot, and they will just peel off! no scratching at the paint ect .... then clean, and treat the panel to a wax to shine it up..
