Debadging Superb including Skoda badges

Hi All

 

I'm a little green here as I've just recently bought myself a 2012 superb. What I want to do is a complete debadge of the car including the skoda badges Bonnet and Tailgate . Can anyone advise on how best to do this. I've found a great post by Chan110 to debadge the so called "engine badges" But what can I do about the actual Skoda badges. How do I remove the skoda badges?? are there any colour coded covers I can put to replace the badges

 

Also what can I do to cover the skoda logo on the alloys - perhaps really stong silver stickers or something

I guess you could always take the badges off then paint them and then put them back. Why do you want to remove all the Skoda badges? Are you ashamed?!

Maybe you shouldn't have bought a Skoda if you want to remove ever Skoda badge lol.........

I just like a car with a 'clean' look and I'm trying to go for a really clean look....

I've de-badged my Superb TSi. Just used a hair dryer on a warm still day (you could do just as well in a garage) and heated up the badges. After a minute or two I used an old credit/store card to lift the edge up the badges and slowly peeled them off. Try not to scrape at the badges or you'll get marks in the lacquer. After all the badges were off I cleaned up any 'shadow' of the badge glue with a rag and meths, then lightly T-cut and polished the areas. Now you cannot tell where the badges were. It took about 40 mins to do all the boot badges.

 

If you want to remove the bonnet 'nose' badge and central boot badge look up on You Tube as there are some good videos. Basically use a credit/store card to gently slide under the plastic and they come off easily with a bit of care. Don't use a screw driver!! Good luck.

Sounds good, I want to remove my Greenline badge so will have to borrow the wife's hairdryer! Have you got any pictures with the badges removed?

Here's a rear shot and a close up.

 

Just make sure the badge gets really hot so that the glue is softened and de-bonds easily. Good luck.

Just out of interest, are the front grill and boot badge the same size a VW badge?

Bonnet and boot badges are 90mm diameter. Not sure if this is the same as VW. I got the later version replacement Skoda badges off Ebay, so no doubt you could get VW ones too.

I too am looking to do exactly the same thing. Did you manage to find colour coded covers that could be used instead to replace the original badges?
