Monte TDi reliability

Recommended Posts

My 2013 Monte 105ps TDi is coming up to its first MOT (31,000 miles) and apart from yearly servicing it's never had to go back to the dealer for any warranty work. The only thing to fail so far (touches wood) was a blown DRL bulb. Admittedly it's on its third set of boots up front (I'm not known for driving like a nun ;)), and I've just replaced all 3 wiper blades (fair wear and tear), but this is the first new car I've had in 43 years of motoring that didn't need to get some minor niggle fixed, or require some major warranty work. Added to that it still puts a smile on my face when I drive it so I don't intend to swap it any time soon, much to the consternation of my local dealership!

Anyone else had solid reliable service from their Fabia?

The Wife's blueline 1.2HTP is nearly 7 years old with 27k on the clock. 1 set of tyres earlier this year, 2 sets of wiper blades, annual service and MOT. Only fault appears to be that the rad fan is only working on the second speed.

My monte TDi is also a 2013/63 and I've clocked up over 41k in it already!

If it goes as well as my old vrs did with 150k on it I'll be a happy bunny indeed.

I've recently had a coolant pipe weeping from where a sensor screws in but other than that it's been a gem so far, oh and a really anoying rattle on the dash!

Best at 3 Years to change the brake fluid,

and get the rear drums off and clean and inspect and give some care and maintenance to.

That's exactly what's happening Friday during it's 3rd service. ;)

Did you specifically ask that the drums were coming off, or say that you wanted that done.?

Many do not during a 'Minor Service', or actually during a Major Service,

Good point, I mentioned the brake fluid change but didn't think to ask about if they're going to remove the drums. I'll do that when I take it in. Thanks for the nudge. :)

Brake drums have been removed during the service and a clean bill of health issued. :)

All shoes are apparently wearing evenly and the mechanisms checked, cleaned and lubed. Whilst I was at it I had the aircon serviced just in case we get a summer this year. You never know.......
