Poor hot starting, bit sluggish

Recommended Posts

Hi been a while since i was last here ! My car has been reliable and still is really.

About 2 weeks a go i got some fuel for my car ( 2001 Octavia Tdi 110bhp) i then drove about quarter of a mile stopped went to a shop, 5 minutes later i wanted to start it and it took ages to start it, i drove home when i parked it i found it wasnt idling well  but i turned it off, later i tried to start it and it didnt want to know, i tried again and eventually started was quite smokey for 20 - 30 seconds, then i drove it and was fine, i thought maybe i got bad fuel so i filled the car up with the premium diesel and drove it, it drives fine and still does but is not a happy starter if left for 5 minutes plus but if cold starts fine ????

The car now runs fine and has never done the strange idle again.

I have also noticed fuel economy is down, and its a bit sluggish, i thought the slugishness maybe because my turbo could do with a good clean i have meaning to do the mr muscle treatment again for a while.

I have been wondering if the temp sensor has gone but i did change ait about 2 1/2 years ago for a green one so should be fine i guess ?

My car has some fault codes

17563, 17656, 17965 but i think they are more to do with my poorly turbo ?

I would appreciate any advice thanks
