Has anyone who has placed an order for a 1.4 L&K taken delivery or even had a firm delivery date yet? I ordered late December and still can't be told when it's going to be here.

As far as I can tell only Skodanick has ordered and received his. Anyone else had any joy?

Have a look at the Build/Delivery times thread.

I ordered my 1.4 L&K on 4th January, (with RRP, Muscovado paint, sun roof, spare wheel, factory tow bar, rear flaps & heated washers)

Dealer placed the order with the factory on 15th Jan (delayed for some reason that I never got to the bottom of),

I was told that build week would be week 15, and that changed at various times to week 20, then 19, then 12 then back to 18 then finally week 15.

The car was built 13th or 14th April,

It was cleared for shipping from the factory to the port of Emden about 18th April

Car carrier ship set sail 22nd April

Car was at Goole storage facility on 25th April.

It was cleared for transport 26th April

Arrived at my (Manchester) dealers today (29th April)

Because of the Bank Holiday delaying PDI, I'll be taking delivery Tuesday 3rd May

Others seem to be finding similar timescales.

If you ordered yours in December, I think you need to be talking to your dealer as something seems to be delaying it even more than "normal".

Ordered mine at the end of Jan, told 3 weeks ago it was in 'build week' and should be here for me first week in May. I think it's now stuck in a railway siding somewhere between Czechoslovakia and Cornwall!

Once the car is built and cleared for shipping from the factory, your dealer should know almost exactly where it is...

They will know each stage of : when it's reached Port of Emden, if it's been cleared for loading on a ship, whether it's arrived in Goole, and if a transporter has been allocated to bring it to the dealer and finally an ETA at the dealers premises. The latter is very important for the dealer as they need to have space for up to 12 cars per transporter!

It means a bit of work for the dealer, but they have access to a similar system that VW's customers have to track the progress of their new car.

They all want to get your money ASAP , so I wouldn't expect them to be dilly dallying......unless the dealer has to pay upfront, in which case it's the factory which needs the hurry up.

I've had a call from Simpson's skoda, she's getting built next week!! I just need to sort out a collection date and get train tickets sorted out.

will be leaving the house at 6am and home by 9pm, if it all goes to plan.....which it wont.
