Yeti TDI 170 4X4 clutch problem - 2009 model

My Yeti is having a clutch problem: at times, the pedal does not return. The dealer could not find a problem after manually pulling the clutch pedal back - after which it works fine for several weeks. Yesterday, I noticed the same problem again, and it felt like the clutch master cylinder is rolling an O-ring, which then leaks. When you pull the pedal back, you can almost feel it in the pedal, and it works fine again. There is no external leaks and no noise associated with this.

I have not been able to find any reference to this problem anywhere, and the dealer also claims that although they have seen it before, there are no bulletins or other information from Skoda on this subject.

Can anyone show any light on this subject?

What a weird problem.I take it the clutch is cable on the yeti or is it hydraulic?  if its cable it could be that the inner sticks in the outer case which stops the pedal from being pushed up now and then. How do you drive the car with this problem? as it couldfail at any time ?

if its a fluid clutch system coud be leakage past the piston that operates the clutch fork in the clutch housing which then looses any back pressure to push the pedal back, you may not loose any fluid as it could be a seal in the actual piston that is letting pressure past,

this is all guess work but I had the same problem like this on a Morris Minor brake system and it was the master cylinder internal seals had failed which let pressure and fluid past no fluid loss which made it look weird but the pedal stayed down and you needed to pull it back up by hand to transfer the fluid again.

.Are you loosing any fluid if it is a fluid clutch ? I also believe that you need to take the clutch housing off the car to reach the piston as it is inside not an external mounted so I may have answered my own question about how it works.

You say the dealer said 'they have seen it before' okay what was the outcome Mr Dealer ???? does he mean seen it or heard about it ? they seem a bit un interested to me ?

There has been a problem with the union that the bleed screw attaches to that lets air into the system.
If it's the slave cylinder it's going to cost as I believe it's in the bell-housing
