Towbar & towball

Hi All

So found when I bought the Yeti in Jan it had a towbar but no detachable towball was supplied and the dealer never mentioned the car had a towbar.

It's a Westfalia with a Skoda sticker also. The type listed on the sticker is 317 077 and I found a towball on ebay never used with the same code from a guy with a Yeti who never used it.

This afternoon I thought I would attached it to make sure all is ok but it won't go all the way in. Is there some technique that I am doing wrong. Is there anyway of finding out if I have managed to get the correct towball. From what I can tell it all ties in.

Thanks

I have watched that video and so guessing I was going everything right. Not in the boot as had it all out to fit the false floor and space wheel the week after I bought it.

S'mae.

I'd firstly check that there is nothing inside the "receiver" like old compacted grease or even a small stone.

Then check that the locking mechanism is working freely, but turning the release knob several times. It might be worth giving it a spray with WD40 first to clean it.

When it is clean and you have confirmed it is working a LIGHT spray with some white grease is quite good.

Hope that helps.

Thanks for the edit post Urrell

The 2nd video explained in a way I knew what to do. The 1st video seemed to just suggest slotting it in. The 2nd showed I have to turn and pull out the piece on the side.

Fits like a glove
