xenon headlights not adjusted

Recommended Posts

Hello

I was playing with my vcds, looking into module 55 xenon range.

Now went to all measuring groups, to see what's in. But I didn't change anything. I know how vcds works.

But problem is a now constanly get the broken bulb failure message, and it gives error code 01539 xenon headlights not adjusted.

If I try to go to group 01 and hit "GO" it says  no valid na or something like that.

I checked voltage front 2,5V and back is only 1,25V

I just had red somewhere that minimum it's 1,60V and better it's between 2 and 3Volts.

I noticed I got leaking shock absorber at the rear back.

When starting car I see the headlights moving up and down but and then it gives the error message.

Somebody has an clou?

thanks

It will not adjust if your voltage is outside the range that VCDS shows you when you hover the mouse over the measuring blocks, and it will leave you with the headlight error if you proceed with the basic settings anyway.  If the levels are in the right region, the boxes will have green text in basic settings, not red.

You can "hack it" by manipulating the car / sensor to put the voltage at the right level.  As an example, my car needs the back driver side jacking up a little as I have sagged spring on that side.  It is the same kind of voltage as you get, I just had to jack it to take a little weight off the suspension.

Really you need to fix whatever is making the readings low.  If you have to manipulate it much, then do the procedure, it means that when you remove your manipulation the car will see a difference in level, and your lights may go to the wrong position.

I have also seen some cars where the sensors have been re-assembled incorrectly following suspension work.

many thanks for that answer. not many people knows this.

Other question with other vag product, also having the xenon adjustment light. but with this car I can't enter the 55 xenon range module in vagcom.

It says I have no access or something like that, or controller is not responding.

I changed ballast, but no difference seen.

please help..............

I don't have any direct experience... but did you read all the info at RossTech's website?  For some newer vehicles it is 29, not 55.

http://www.ross-tech.com/vag-com/cars/xenonalignment.html

"[select]

[55 - Xenon Range] (For some newer vehicles,  use [29 - Left Light] instead )"

And are you certain they are factory fit Xenons? And not aftermarket?

There is a dedicated VCDS page on this site, as well as some useful fascebook groups etc.  I have limited experience with it, I just know a little about Xenon's from playing with mine and another member's Edition 100 cars.

hello

I changed shock absorbers at the back and the voltage reading of level sensor in the back was now 1,5V iso 1,25V but still to low to have the error cleared.

So I raised the car in the back, 1,7V and indeed now it was possible to hit the GO button in the 55 xenon range module.

But how is it possible to have the car still that low having now shock absorbers, spring related???
