Twindoor going -> Estate coming in!

Recommended Posts

I was perusing AT the other day and saw a nice 2010 Estate with lots of extras inc the panoramic sunroof. As I've got a bit of money recently I decided to spoil myself and so have put a deposit down today.

It's what some would consider the worst combo; 1.8TSI with 7 speed DSG. It has had the service bulletin done (checked with Skoda CC) and has had a clutch pack replaced in 2012 already. I checked the gearbox carefully from cold and it was incredibly smooth with no judder or shuffling. Kicks down nicely too.

So the 1.8TSI twindoor is going after 45,000 miles (total 97,500 miles) of happy motoring. Such a wonderful car but I always wanted a combi. She averaged 33.0MPG in my stewardship; this is with a journey with 18 roundabouts (and 10 of those at NSL!).

I'll need to order a boot mat (does anyone have the part number for the Skoda one with the variable floor and rail system?) , bumper lip protector and some LED DRLs.

I really wanted in estate (v6 to be fair but 15k+miles a year means no!) And I love my 1.8TSI engine, loves a rev and goes well.

Also going to be going from black (which is great when clean but a nightmare to) to cappuccino I think.

Superskoda do all the parts that you are looking for..3T9061190B boot mat

Also make sure you grease the sunroof regular or your going to get squeeks...

Dont look at  Superskoda too long as it affects your wealth...

Congrats on the new Combi Nathanio - I cant fault your choice

I can vouch for the Cappuccino and its nightmare reduction properties - that's what I have and its a hell of a lot easier to own than my previous dark metallics. When I say a lot easier, I mean it doesn't look like it needs to be washed after every damned rainfall. This is very important when you live in Ireland, on the West Coast, where everything is lovely and green because it ****es rain so often!   I am cleaning the car 4x less.

I have that engine and 'box combo too! I've got some judder but only in a few scenarios of driving it so far. I will contact Skoda tomorrow and see if the recall had been done on it.

Enjoy your new car!

Thanks! I'm hoping to give it a good going over before we go away as I have some spare time at the moment between jobs.

I just rang Skoda CC, gave them the reg and they told me the history of the car.

Only works if the vehicle has been maintained in the dealer network.

But will tell you if the car has had the necessary technical bulletins fitted to your car (which is probably the important bit). Did it for both our recent cars.

I rang Skoda just now and they said that the only recall on my vehicle was a change in the gearbox oil to from/to mineral and that has been carried out. Therefore it will need to go a dealer now. The car is under warranty with Skoda for the next 12 months so I will get it looked at under warranty with my local dealer.

Well here is the Twindoor:

And here is the new girl; Heidi

Very pleased with it :) some small scratches here and there but due to the colour it doesn't show as clearly as it did on the black. The BT module is a 3C8 rev A so I will change it for my revE. Needs some VCDS tweaks for the boot etc.

First time at a junction I went for the clutch and brake and double footed the brake! Thankfully only 5mph but still threw forward!

Will be changing the BT module, lights for LEDs and a good clean tomorrow.
