oil leak tandem pump

Recommended Posts

there will be two sources covered by the same gasket (which is available)   one feeds a small quantity of oil TO the vac pump  whilst the other is the vac pump exhaust along with it's "used" oil back into the head also worth checking for excessive crank case pressure

just been told my that the oil leak is coming from the tandem pump which he said will be the gasket, but I've had a look and seems to be a couple of different gaskets!

do you know what sort of job it is to change it, do you need to block pipes off to do it?

it's not majorly squirting oil out! just seems to be quite alot of oil build up on top of the gearbox and the pump being the highest point

There are two gaskets, one between the pump and engine block and on the pump itself between the cover and pump body. There are also a number of different tandem pumps fitted to different engine.

If you pull off the engine cover ypu should be able to see where it is leaking from. You may need to clean it and where oil reappears.

Depends which one is leaking. Oil can come out of either gasket.
