Van

Don't suppose anyone has a large van (lwb hitop transit/sprinter type) that I could borrow/pay for in beer type currency? Moving from South Derbyshire to Somerset and it's silly prices to hire one over a weekend and we are moving in stages whilst one finishes college up here and one has a few weeks at new school before summer hols to get to know some people...

Thanks

Always found local hire places cheaper and more flexible than the nationals, e.g. a lot have mileage limits, but with the local one he gave me a higher mileage van and said he forget the extra miles (iirc it was around 200 allowed and then pay per mile after that, I had 500 miles to do).

Not sure if its applicable to you but one of our local places does great rates for 'evening' hire with a 5pm pickup and 8am return. Iirc a SWB Transit was £30 per night. If you can stand all nighters that could be an efficient way to do it :)

I'd agree mate

Prices are alot more negotiable too. A mate got a Vivaro in an evening which had to be back by 8am. Trundled up to Scotland and back over night. saved a fortune.

You can get a shift on at that time of night too, so it has other benefits.

Do you have a Tesco Clubcard ?  Does it have any vouchers on it that you could convert into tokens?  You can get £30 worth of tokens for only £10 worth of vouchers.  If you have such things go onto the Clubcard portion of the Tesco web site, look at Europcar van hire.  You can pay all or part of the cost of hiring a van with Europcar with Tesco tokens from the clubcard !
