Fabia MK1 Glovebox light missing

Recommended Posts

Hi

Recently bought a Fabia VRS MK1.

I've a few issues that I need help with.

1. Noticed the other day that the glovebox light wasn't working, so thought it was probably a new bulb needed, but when I removed the glovebox to get to the light, there's no bulb or holder and the wiring/plug is missing (there is a clear lens in the glovebox, so assumed there should be a bulb and holder and wiring behind it?).

Getting a new bulb and holder isn't an issue, but can anyone tell me which direction the wiring for the light comes from - had a quick look and feel round towards the back of where the stereo is , but no look so far.

Does it come from the 12v socket supply near the handbrake.

2. There's no lights on buzzer warning when the doors open. I've tried driving off with the handbrake light on-no buzzer warning there either, so thought sounder not working, but then the indicators sound when on and when the low fuel light comes on, the warning sound is present.

Thought door lock module, but all the doors appear to lock/unlock properly and the interior/door courtesy lights come on/go off when the doors are open/closed.

3. The directional control for the heating doesn't work properly, whichever way you set it, it's always mainly blowing down into the footwell (the heating and fan ones work fine)

I've done a search on the forum first before posting, but not found anything that solves the issues I've got.

The reason your glovebox light is missing is they are designed to break if you look at them funny and when they break they don't switch off and they flatten your battery slowly but surely without you knowing. Insidious they are.

Lights on buzzer sorted.

It's got Led's fitted to the interior light, and noticed the centre one was flickering on and off, changed it for new one and the lights on buzzer now works.
