Buying replacement wing mirror

Recommended Posts

I need to replace the complet drivers side manually adjustable wing mirror on my 2005 1.4tdi Fabia.

Genuine Skoda parts are extortionate and I am struggling to find any one who can supply non genuine replacement in the UK.

I was wondering if any one had ever used http://www.onlinecarparts.co.uk/hd-karosserieteile-7054379.html They have a DIEDERICH mirror for under £30 including delivery. Would that part definitely fit a UK right hand drive model or could anyone recommend another supplier in the UK or Europe?

My concern is that I ensure I get the appropriate part for a UK right hand drive car, I understand that the mirrors on left hand drive cars are smaller than their British counterpart

Why would left hand drive mirrors be any different at all?

On a polish suppliers site it said that mirrors for left hand drive cars were smaller than for right hand drive.

Sounds odd I know. When I lived in Germany I did not notice that the wing mirrors were smaller but obviously I was not really looking.

They must be referring to the glass only, the magnifying mirror will be on the wrong side for a right hand drive car. Translation error.

On a slightly different note. My drivers side mirror glass has de-laminarted and need a new on (got an MOT advisory last year). So where is the best place to buy one, apart from eBay, I don't have an eBay account? Needs to be heated and curved (anti-blind spot bit).
