1.2tsi 110 - Fabia Monte Carlo - what oil - Conflixting advice.

Recommended Posts

I have taken ownership of a 2014 Skoda Fabia Mkii Monte Carlo 1.2tsi 110 petrol engine.

Please can anyone confirm the correct oil grade for the vehicle.

I have come up with conflicting advice and would like some advice.

The owners manual doesn't list my engine oddly.

Oil website list 0w30 fully synthetic, another lists 5w30 fully synthetic.

Any thoughts??

Ryan.

The Recommended Oil by VW / Skoda is 5w 30 Full Synthetic Long Life to VW 504 00

This is for Variable Servicing and fine if doing fixed servicing.

If you want 5w 40 Full Synthetic to VW 502 00 is fine if doing Fixed Servicing eg. 9,400 miles(10,000) or less / 372 days.

You are in the UK / Europe,  you have a 1.2 TSI Euro 5 engine,

so if someone changes the recommended oil to 0w 30 then that can happen.

The recommended oil for your car was VW504 00  / 5w 30 Full Synthetic Long Life.  Variable Servicing.

That is what it was when the engines were launched and in the years since.

My Audi dealer used 0W-30 last year on my S4, I used 5W-30 on it last week for its inbetween oil+filter change - what's the betting main dealer will stuff 0W-20 in it next year, progress, maybe, as long as it does not affect engine life/wear. Economy/Emissions rule!

Edit:- I must remember to ask VW what they plan to stuff in wife's 1.2TSI when it gets called in in August.

A small point, but it will be a 1.2 TSI 105ps engine.

It might put out more but it is not known as a 110.

I only use 5w-30 since new.

Last couple of years Skoda dealers recommends 5w-40. I think they do so because they want to eliminate oil consumption.

My car needs about 600 ml of oil every 6.000 to 7.000 Km.
