Wheel alignment

Recommended Posts

Hi, car is pulling slightly left, enough to have a hand on the wheel to keep it in a straight line. Bit annoying on a long run.

Are my local kwik fit or ats equipped to check and adjust or should I be taking it somewhere more specialised?

If so can anyone recommend me somewhere to take it in ideally North Lanarkshire or the central belt of Scotland.

Thanks

I wouldn't let Kwik Fit near my car...... Have a google for Hunter Wheel Alignment in your local area and you'll find something come up. Then look through reviews of the places to find the best place with a Hunter system. ;)

I've just had to do this and I googled hunter Hawk eye and thought I'll have that done and noticed kwik fit do it so I had it done keeping a close eye on the fitter and the computer screen the rear was fine but the front was well out which I didn't notice especially hands free on the motorway for a moment so they were charging me £49.99 just for the front or!!!!!! I could buy a insurance with it for a extra £50. And that means I had all 4 set all the same degrees and cause of that Insurance it means I can now go into there and have my wheel alignment checked and adjusted eight times but it only lasts for two years and it doesn't matter if I have my tyres changed they will still honour it it goes by the reg / owner and I can have this done at any kwik fit nation wide. So that'll be me every quarter popping in and having them checked especially as I never noticed the front are you way out

As already mentioned, try to avoid KF just saying that as some of their technicans are excellent and some are NOT.

I have used formula1 autocenter to check and adjust the geometry (all 4 wheels) on my superb,i asked if i could observe the operation, they said no problem and they found all wheels needing adjustment some much more than others.

Its not cheap to have the geometery checked/adjusted but if your having other work done (tyres etc) ask for a discount .
