MFD1 DSP Upgrade - anyone got it? How does it connect up?

Recommended Posts

Posted this in the Mk1 Fabia section and ICE section but it may prove to be more useful and helpful in here as i believe they were fitted moreso in the Superb than the Fabia.

I've just purchased an MFD1 with cd changer but I understand there was originally a DSP amplifier to enhance the sound package, however I can only find references of these being used in eBay in golf systems along with a cd player, not the mfd - but it's noted in the mfd manual.

Has anyone got one of these and confirm how it connects in, does it require only the amp or the control unit also?

Not sure what is involved in retrofit. You can buy the proper wiring diagrams for all options direct from Skoda via their ERWIN service.

So you dont require the control box then, that must just be for the golf units. I've got the MFD unit and i'm looking into buying looms to wire in the CD changer, dont suppose you have a part number for the loom running the DSP to your MFD do you? I'm assuming its a lengthy cable as it looks like your DSP is in the boot...i think?

Once you get it working with a six CD changer, You may want ot get a phatnoise instead. I got really fed up with the CD unit not seeing discs. The Phatnoise is a pain to initaly set up, but once done very effective.

I love my phatbox. Works brilliantly.

Yes, the DSP is in the boot on my Superb. As far as I can tell there isn't any additional box in line.

Nothing I can identify part number wise on the loom.

I thought kufatec did DSP retrofit wiring kits, maybe give them a look
