Suspension Problems already see pic's

Recommended Posts

My whole front end suspension was revamped few months ago...

I have got an annoying mouse squeak over 30mph and under a slight clunk.

I was rather hoping it would be new suspension bedding in.

Then i thought track rod end's as i belted the NSF quite hard.

Anyway had a spare 30min's so removed the wheel to find this.

I cannot for the life of me understand it.

Any suggestion's?

Yes correct one way fit i checked all that before fitting them, shock's are either side also.

I put some pipe with some cable tie's around the area,it is still squeaking.

Yes they are APEX 20mm spring's.

Could the shock be faulty?

I'd love to see how the spring sits at the top

and the overall position of the spring when under load - do you have another jack (trolley jack) the you could position under the lower radius arm and jack up suspension up until its under complete compression.

Brad lol top 3 coils almost touch.whilst i was parked on a steep hill earlier i looked.

Other side seem's ok,bit close mind.

Not sure what's faulty,ECP have ordered a new kit for me to swap.

Is there any point in upgrading shock's? Bilstein?

Hopefully that should sort it.But can't see them lasting long with the B-road's i commute on.

Only NSF is the issue, gearbox extra weight maybe.

I am really chuffed with them TBH,There is no way i'd go back standard.Crashy and hard.

Roll has been almost ruled out.

Don't even see the need for better ARB.

I have a new spring from ECP i will post a pic soon.

I am going to order some piping.

H&R do the exact same thing and they definatly arnt cheap.

Clatter or touch the shock?

I'm getting a clunk under 30 over a squeak.

I knew H&R did squeak which was why i avoided them.

I'm going to fit the new spring, and see what happen's.

I don't really want to hack at my shock's.

I may buy some Bilstein's.

Don't want coilover's as i travel country road's a lot.

I fitted my disc's and pad's today. And the driver's side is identical to the NSF.

I have double checked the front shock's they are correct.

Only thing i can think of is,because it's the very late cr170 and slightly heavier than the PD170.

Since i have jacked it up the squeak has gone also the clunk, but when settled again it will return.

Thank you for above info!
