Yeti No. 3 Ordered!

Looks like you've done the right thing in going to petrol. It's such a shame that Skoda do not allow the 1.4 and DSG option in the UK. I'd have gone for that rather than the 150TDi. So we are both awaiting our third Yeti's, do we get special privileges in the 'corner'?

I have just ordered my 3rd Yeti. My first was an SE 110 2wd manual and did its job perfectly including towing a lightweight caravan. Its replacement was another SE 140 DSG 4x4 and was a much more leisurely drive.

My circumstances have now changed, I'm unable to handle the caravan any more so it's gone. It's sorely missed but I have to be sensible. My annual mileage has also dropped, 13k in the last two and a half years. Not the best for a diesel, although I've never had a regen in that time.

For these reasons and the threatened punitive tax on diesels made me consider a petrol Yeti.

I had a test drive of a 1.2tsi DSG and was impressed enough to place an order straight away. I would have preferred a 1.4tsi but it's not available with DSG. Short sighted by SUK in my opinion.

I got my first Yeti from Allams at Epsom and was impressed by their service but the next one was ordered closer to home and the service was poor in comparison, so I thought I'd go back to Allams.

James dealt with us last time but he has now relocated to Dubai but we got excellent help from Linda.

Now we have to wait again! Delivery is expected in October, which is not bad considering the factory closes for a fortnight this month. It can't be as bad as the first though, that took 6 months!

The new car will be SE 1.2tsi DSG in Cappuccino (a colour we had on our Roomster) with Heated windscreen and washer jets, front and rear mudflaps, front parking sensors and DAB radio.

Looking forward to another Yeti adventure.

Fred

A man who knows what he likes.

As regards the wait, look on the bright side Fred. A couple of weeks ago I ordered another one of those lightweight caravans we both like. I should get it Feb/March next year.

Nice one Fred.

Another Eriba Colin?

My wife (The Lioness) is not very enamoured with caravanning anymore,

so I may end up with a Yeti and an inflatable tent (so we can rush off

at a moments notice if the sun comes out)

Yes sir, No 4, cost nearly as much as the Yeti, but far higher resale/residuals. Hopefully I will get 20yrs of fun out of this one.

Nice one.  I've just taken delivery of our 4th Yeti (my wife has our 3rd).

Our first two Yetis were both 4x4 Tdi 140s, the second with DSG.  Last year we bought a 34k mile 4 year old 1.2 DSG Elegance.  I was so impressed with the smoothness of the engine and indeed the performance for a 1.2.

So impressed that I have just changed my Superb 170 Tdi DSG Elegance 4x4 for a 1.2 DSG SE L Outdoor.  With only 68 miles on the clock, we took it on holiday to Austria where we put a further 2,500 miles on it.

It ran effortlessly (I was going to say Superbly :-) )with 4 adults and a roof box returning 43 mpg.

We are also caravanners or should I say ex-caravanners as we have just sold our tourer and bought a Static.

I've had tourers for over 28 years, bought my first one at 19 years old.

My current towcar is a Passat 2.0TDi 177PS DSG but I've had all sorts over the years inlcluding big SUV's

Anyway not wanting another diesel due to DPF worries, concerns over future taxation, increased complexity and increased cost we also went with TSi.

To be honest we already owned two 1.2TSi's (105's) in a Fabia and Octavia so already knew how smooth and refined they were and they are surprisingly powerful.

We too would have purchased a 1.4TSi SE DSG if one had been available.

Only had our Yeti a week but so far loving it.

Good for you Fred.

Not wishing to put a dampener on it but I ordered a DSG 150 SEL 4x4 on 16th April and build week 31 just today confirmed.

That means I will probably not take delivery till the end of August.

4 1/2 month wait. Almost as bad as for my first one at 5 months.

Oh well, it's going to be worth it.

Similar to me, ordered end of April now confirmed week 32 (L&K plus options).  Week 31 is the first week in August the first production week after the closure.  I was disappointed with the extended delivery as the original delivery estimate was early end June/early July.  But as we know the factory are making the Seat Ateca and they have been producing the 'First Edition' run and the dealer samples. I've been advised that things may still change when the factory get back to work, fingers crossed.

Mine has changed from status 10 to status 20, which, apparently, means the build date won't change.

We shall see.
