Four year service advice please

My Yeti is due for it,s 4 year service in September. The Yeti is a 2litre TDi with a 6 speed DSG, and has done 22000 miles.I had the brake fluid renewed last year but would like advice on firstly Haldex oil being renewed and also the DSG gearbox oil being renewed. Am I right in believing that both should be done on this 4 year service? Also is there anything else that I should have checked or renewed at the same time.

I'm at the same stage, Tony (same-ish Yeti) - fourth annual (around 27K miles), and MoT, due next month.  Brake fluid was due, and done, last year, but I requested the Haldex change at the same time.  'Final drive oil' is included every 24 months, if the website is to be believed (http://www.skoda.co.uk/owners/service-and-maintenance/simply-fixed/pages/default.aspx?gclid=CjwKEAjw8da8BRDssvyH8uPEgnoSJABJmwYoNs1kRhwDrXUuiC-sYaqp5eaMkHBJW77JXil9bTzL3BoCJFLw_wcB).  'Check/replenish gearbox oil' at 24 months, too - but was there something here recently about the DSG oil?

'Check/replenish gearbox oil' at 24 months

Check/replenish is check level top up if necessary, not change oil.

  • 2 weeks later...

Just had a word with Skoda customer service and Haldex oil should have been changed last year, ( so is being done this service) and the DSG oil change is not age related but must be done at 40000 miles.

Wasn't sure if it was the same maintenance regime in 4x4 Yeti as in the Octy Scout, but after several emails to dealership and SUK, they were finally able to confirm haldex oil change is every 3 years or 37,000 miles (whatevers soonest).

Confirmation from my dealer :  '...I can confirm the official maintenance routine for the 6 speed DSG gearbox is to have the oil and filter change every 40,000 miles...'

Not sure I'd be happy with no age limit. If your vehicle continues to only do 22000 miles every 4 years, your vehicle would not be far off 8yo before the DSG oil would be changed.

Does that minor (10k/12mths), major (20k/24mths) apply to all Skodas?

My Yeti had its first minor service at around 9 months old and 9500 miles. It's now just 13 months old and around 18500 miles - and the dash is claiming an oil service is due. Am I right to wait until 20k and go for a 'major' service?
