Hi all,

I have just customised my front fog lights to work as DRL's but I don't have the option to de-select the "Turn off daytime running lights when parking brake is on" for some reason. Do additional customise options have to be activated on the Canbus Gateway? I now have a newer Canbus fitted after installing a Columbus and bluetooth so I should be able to activate more options.

The parking brake suppression of DRLs is not in the UK list but I believe it is for other country models. Try the settings for the USA or some other European countries such as Sweden to see if they have it.

No such luck nothing extra seems to have been added after trying each country setting. It must be Canbus Gateway related as only certain boxes are ticked for my model car?

I don't think it's related to the canbus. The canbus is basically a gateway that links all the modules together.

 

I think this is a limitation in the programming of the modules.

 

When I coded my DRLs using my Polar FIS+ the only way to have them using the fogs is that then they only come on when the handbrake is released. This is the American DRL setting since they don't tend to bother using their handbrakes!

 

Scandinavian DRLs use the dipped beam.

Strange, my '11 plate is set to GB and I have the option to turn off DRL with parking brake. It may be that as the DRL's were not fitted as standard to yours the option is not there. Have you tried to reconnect and rescan options after you set fogs to be DRL's?

I have the option on my 11 plate altho it is vrs with led daytime lights

Yep I've tried everything. I set the fogs as DRL's ages ago but reverted back to normal because this issue was bothering me. I must be able to add options somehow??

Mine are on all the time i found once or twice sat at cross roads holding on hand brake folk facing me thought i was flashing them
