Water ingress problem - Superb -11 wet on passenger side

Recommended Posts

Just got a call from wifey and there is dripping water on the passenger side, i asume it´s the "plenum chamber" or/and pollen filter.

I´m having trouble findind a guide for the -11 superb, anyone know of a guide in solving this problem or can give a quick rundown on howto get this sorted?

regards /b

EDIT:

It is something to do with the plenum chamber, can't remember what the repair was though, mine has done it once or twice in the two years I've owned it, but not enough to warrant further investigation

I'm not familiar with any water ingress issues on teh Superb 2 (may be that I haven't had one long enough to find out!). The first gen had known issues with water entering through the cabin air filter (shared with the Passat and Audi A4 that used that platform).

I'd probably check for water drain points being blocked, especially around the space under the wipers. If you have a sunroof, check that the drains are not blocked.

My superb had to go back to the dealer due to water being absorbed by a foam seal on the blower intake and then dripping out of the bottom of the fan. I think they just sealed it up with come silicone

Can you see where its coming from?

Hi and thanks for the answers

Spend some time looking for the leakage yesterday but now luck.

I found the drainage hole under the left hood mountin(passenger side) and that was not clogged at all, drenched it with 1.5l of water without any problem

But acording to wifey it was pooring water on to the right side sitting in the passenger seat

So i asume it´s some door/glas sealing that are att fault, did´t find anything obvius though.

So drainage is proberly not att fault, other ideas?

Have you got the glass roof or sunroof?

I had water getting into the passenger footwell as the outlet from the sunroof drain on my glass roof was blocked.  The outlet is behind the passenger door hinge area.  I ended up having to remove the bonnet release catch and the panel behind to access the pipe which needed detaching from the outlet to allow me to clear then re thread.

Obviously if no sunroof this isn't your problem.

Nope, no sunroof

i did however find a litle "dent" (lack for better word) in the windowlist that was a pusched in, maby with a screwdriver on installing windshield sometime.

put some glue there and are awating next rainfall to see if the problem is still there

Others on this site have told of problems with the windscreen leaking around the seal.

I did experience this water ingress on the Mk1 and it was down to faulty design of the plenum chamber.

I did mange to get it repaired after it took some of my electrics.

I would be surprised if it was the plenum chamber after the Mk1 fiasco.

Try drying out the floor area then put some tissue on the floor where you feel the water is and then pour water over the windscreen an see if you can reproduce the wet floor.
