5N0035730B Bluetooth unit.

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone,

I have just bought a Bluetooth unit, for a frankly unbelievable price from eBay. I currently have a Stream unit fitted in my car. I understand that I can't use this unit with the Stream, but what stereo can I use to operate this Bluetooth unit.

Also, I don't currently know if I am getting any of the wiring loom or microphone, are these easy to obtain?

Thanks,

Ross

Parts easy to get from likes of carsystems.pl or probably also eBay. Can also be obtained through dealers but probably a harder route.

You need a Bolero, Amundsen or Columbus. I believe you will also need maxidot to control that module.

I bought my mic and loom from eBay. The looms are universal so you don't need a specific one for each stereo or Bluetooth module.

Thanks Phil,

I thought that would be the case, I did just want to check out my options. I do have maxidot fitted so that's a check in the box! Will I need an MFSW for this module?

I'll keep an eye on eBay for the loom and mic.

It will work with a Stream too but controlled via maxidot. I have one of those modules and I tested it successfully with a Stream I bought to replace my Columbus when I was planning on part-exing my car a couple of years ago (I subsequently changed my mind).

Well that's pretty cool but makes sense I guess since none of the actual pairing etc is controlled from the stereo.

Don't forget you will need some VCDS coding.

Just out of curiosity, how cheap did you manage to pick it up for? Will now be looking out for a bargain myself

£0.99 + £5 p&p. It did seem a bit too good to be true and I don't believe it comes with any wiring, but if I'm honest I don't mind loosing £6 if it all goes wrong!

Turned out I was the only bidder, and only found it rather by chance!

Billywhizz found a loom pretty cheaply for his set up from a UK based seller. Suggest dropping him a pm for the details (or he might see this). That came with a mic anyway and was 40 quid or so I think. Then all you'll need is the GSM antenna and they are about a tenner from memory.
