Door mirrors

Having owned the Yeti for about 6 weeks now , I've just noticed the passenger door mirror is angled inwards slightly rather than being set at 90o to the door , makes perfect sense . Clever Skoda  :sun:

When they fold in the passenger side seems quicker but that's because it doesn't have to travel as far as the drivers side.

I've never noticed that but it sounds right .

Clever Skoda? IMO it's good but its not quite Carling!

In spite of its size, the passenger door mirror has a terrible blind spot for continental driving (being overtaken on or pulling out to the left).

My L&K has a quite a narrow driving mirror and the blind spot covers a car-and-a-half's length from the rear seats backward.

Yes, I can open its angle more to see everything behind on the left but I loose the reflected edge of my car as a perspective reference point which is most useful

as the reflective ratios appear different between the door mirror and the driving mirror.

I sat in an entry level Yeti at the dealer and it had a significantly larger driving mirror but it didn't have the whistle and the bell that came with the L&K's mirror.

Not sure if this is of interest but I've purchased a pair of self adhesive blind spot mirrors for my new Yeti and they work superbly. They come in a variety of styles, two rim colours (black or silver) and are extremely competitively priced …… go to ebay and in the search box type in "convex blind spot mirrors" and all will be revealed from a multitude of sellers.

Actually, I did the very same thing before our recent Italian jaunt. A 3" round one on the bottom outside corner of the passenger side mirror gave that bit more field of view - useful when joining a faster road and things are coming by from that side.

Funny, but I have never found a problem with the mirrors abroad.

Both mirrors are set so that I can just see the very edge of the rear door handles in the edge of the mirror. By the time a car has disappeared from the mirror it is just in the corner of my eye.

Same applies in this country.

Same here Graham, but then I just realised that I am normally towing and have the extension mirrors on, so I could be getting confused.

Colin

Corrected that for you Colin.....................hee hee

I love the Welsh language, I don't understand it but I like to hear it spoken.

Clive try google translate. this is what your last post would look like ''Rwyf wrth fy modd yr iaith Gymraeg, nid wyf yn ei ddeall, ond yr wyf yn hoffi ei glywed ar lafar.''

I reckon it's best to stick to just hearing it  :D

I'm going to get the Mrs to text it to me while I'm in the Yeti , then I'll get the Yeti to read it out to me  :D
