Hi Damian.

What's your opinion on the bilstein B4 as a budget shock?

I was thinking about going for the Vogtland -50mm shocks and springs for my 09 pre FL limited edition tdi hatch.

Not sure if I should mix and match bilstein B4 and other springs, or just get the Vogtland kit.

Morning,

 

The Bilstein B4 dampers are really designed as direct replacement for the standard dampers so if you're going for lowering springs then I'd say go for matched shortened dampers as well.
