2010 VRS (cave) stutter around 1800rpm

Had first service of my vrs about 10 days ago (overdue by about 1000). Since then it's been stuttering. So put back in on Monday and they found a pressure sensor fault that they replaced. Still stuttering. It's very specifically between around 17-1900rpm. It's fine above 2000 and below. But as most of the gear changes occur around this range it's pretty noticeable.

I am driving 150 miles tonight to go on holiday and have it booked in on Tuesday when I'm back. Little bit concerned I'm going to do damage doing that distance (twice) before it gets seen.

I'm a total novice so no clue. Any ideas?

Forgot to say done approx 55k

?

What was done at a service after 6 years and @ 55,000 miles.?

If on annual fixed servicing @ every 9,400 miles it is not 1,000 miles over really.   5 X 9,400 = 47,000 miles.

6 Times 9,400 miles is 56,400 miles.

(On Fixed servicing the Schedule / Guidelines and the Cars Maxidit reset is 9,400 miles / 372 days)

Skoda UK & Dealerships somehow just say 10,000 miles.

But then if Long Life oil is being put in which is what VW / Skoda recommend that is supposedly good for many more miles than that.

(CAVE engine was Fixed Servicing intervals at launch, no choice of Variable / Flexible Servicing with the servicing code, that changed later in production.)

EG

2010 New Car & Zero Miles PDI Done.

So

2011 Minor  first  service (10,000) 9,400 miles / 372 Days.

**** Many ex Demonstrators get the First Service put on system as done when sold used at 3,000-4,000 miles,

Maybe done, maybe not. You trust they did.****

2012 Major  (20,000) 18,800 miles

2013 Minor (30,000) 28,200 miles

2014 Major (40,000) 37,600 miles

2015 Minor  (50,000) 47,000 miles

2016 Major Service required . (60,000) 56,400 miles.

?

Were they changing spark plugs and did they?

*Air Filter.* Was it changed?

Did the fuel filter get changed, did a Software Update get done?

Were they a Skoda MainDealer and responsible / Guaranteeing their work?

What does your Invoice Show and how much did you pay?,

Do you have some kind of Warranty?

................................

So what parts were replaced & what is checked on the Work LIst / Health Check?

Oil Filter

3.6 litres Oil. VW504 00 (5w 30 FS Long life)  or VW 502 00 5w 40 FS.

Sump Plug

Air Filter

Pollen Filter

Fuel Filter

4 x Spark Plugs

Diagnostic Check, Road Test, Coolant Strength checked, Visual Brakes & Tyres, Wiper Blades, etc etc

Thanks George. I will have a look at those questions when we get back. The mechanic is just a local guy who specialises in VAG and bills himself more on the performance side of things. He mentioned the need for DSG oil change but didn't have correct oil in so recommended we do it in November when mot due. Also said spark plugs are due but are still in decent nic so worth waiting. Don't know if any changes done on software. The other bits and pieces I need to check the log. I know he changed rear wiper blade, and maybe the air filter I think. Will check later.

I bought a year full warranty from skoda in Jan/Feb based on engine concerns. I don't know what work has been done on it regarding injectors etc. I can't see anything in the log book about that.

I think it might be worth me going to skoda main dealer in Leicester instead of to this local guy.

Not sure what the pressure sensor is LGM, wife had to take the car in. It came up as faulty on the computer. Cost £50 plus another £70 labour. I'm not sure how legit this is. Certainly didn't sort out the issue! When I phoned him he said they didn't have time to do further investigation (which is fair enough as I phoned that morning to see if he could have a look because of long car journey coming up).

Thinking I should have just gone main dealer to begin with.

^^^^ Exactly.

The Oil does not need changed as a service item in the vRS's DQ200 DSG , only those requiring it due to a World Wide Recall and UK / European Service campaign,

and Skoda / VW pay for it to be done.

Best get an Independent Specialist that knows the cars, or with a Skoda Warranty stick to main dealers.

???

What spark plugs are in now if they were changed.     Drive very easy until fault is diagnosed.
