There are 2 possible culprits :-

1/ Get the car up on ramps with bonnet up look at rear of engine from front of car, note the large stainless charge pipe that runs from right (turbo)

across to left then dives down vertically). Now get under car and find that pipe, the end of it is covered by a heat resistant pop together cover, unclip that and you can see the crap spring clip that secures both pipe ends together, see if you can pull the rubber hose down, if you can it needs re-assembling to the stainless charge pipe, also make sure the spring clip locates on the 2 barbes (part of metal end on rubber hose).

2/Also check the short straight bit of rubber pipe that links the pancake pipe (flattened dull stainless) to the intercooler. This can be better seen if you jack up the front offside and remove the roadwheel, check the 2 hose clips there, sometimes this hose can become detatched at either end.

NB: I would check all the hose clips and just tweak them up a bit more

This is quite difficult to diagnose remotely as there can be one thing or a number of minor problems all conspiring together.

To get to the root problem/s can i suggest you find a fellow member nearby to run a diagnostic scan using vag-com,then we can

look at the error codes if any.

Also what year is the car, list all the mods its had done and what its mileage is, otherwise, to be fair to everyone it will be very much hit or miss

and going down a route of "try this / try that etc".

Forge boost pipes are very good quality, plus the front mount welly i/c has had good reviews.

It will be interesting to see what error codes surface.

Try this link for brisky people with diagnostics :-

"went from 1St going into 2nd had big pop thought I blown a tyre", are you sure this wasnt a exhaust backfire?.

Has the car lost power since the "pop"?.

Without having a stationary diagnostic scan and/or some real time readings (you driving, laptop plugged into diagnostic port and passenger capturing boost/rpm numbers), i'm afraid its pretty hit and miss. How about contacting the people who did the remap?.

I guess it all depends on how deep pockets you have, yes, it could be the N75 mind you ive never heard of one going pop, or a diverter valve diaphram splitting (if you are using a std one and not a forge aluminium one or similar). The ally ones have a nice sliding piston with o rings or maybe a seal in the turbo has given up the ghost.

GET A DIAGNOSTIC SCAN DONE !!!!!

Good,

If you have a load of error codes logged, make a note of the numbers, clear the codes, go for a short run and do another scan.

Sometimes if a particular code is not resolved or cleared it can trigger other error codes. So the important source error can be hidden

in amongst its "daughter" errors.

If it hasnt already been done to your car I would suggest looking at fitting a Neuspeed 28mm rear anti roll bar (or similar) to stiffen the back end up, replace shocks coils all round and front strut braces (upper and lower from audi TT) also a Golf R32 front Anti roll bar ( the vrs has a std dia 19 mm, R32 is dia 23mm). Also look at supension bushes Superpro help to stiffen things up. Last but not least improve the braking ability (plenty of mods on here, just do a search).

Its all very well being the fastest away from the lights, but if you come to a sharp bend and end up wallowing into the bushes, game over.
