Window control module

Recommended Posts

If replacing the control module for an electric window does it require coding ? My window was inop (pax front). I've replaced the module from a doner regulator. Window now works from pax door but not drivers. Also central locking inop on said door and rear windows go down in stages from drivers control ?

So was going to leave as is because window was working from PAC door. But after leaving car off for 5-10 mins window no longer works unless module disconnected and reconnected !! Looks like I need a log in to access the coding as it is greyed out. The old module shows the fault input voltage too low whilst the new one shows Comms fault. Any ideas ?

Checked the wiring, all looks good. The low voltage fault code is only for the original module (I have only replaced the black control module not the motor). With this installed the switch lights up and the central locking works. With the donor module the window works from the passanger door switch but not the drivers. Also the switch doesn't light up and the central locking doesn't work and the rear windows operate in stages dmfrom the drivers button. The fault code is a communication error with this module installed.

On white stickers on module:

101449 203 05 765 70 , H1.20 S2.7 080101 , 14 1951 - The "New" module

104417-302 05 742 70 , HW12 S0202 15025 , 23 2328 - Original module

PA6-3F40-TPE appears on body of both

part numbers for door controllers would be something like 1T0 959 701 for the drivers side and 1T0 959 702 for the passenger side

the box module bit would start 1k0

if you got the box from say a vw golf even if the part number is the same, some functions would work differently

window motor consists of two parts

Motor = 1T0 959 701?

Module = 1K0 ? can't remember the rest

You can't order the module from the dealer, you have to buy the full motor.
The motor part number will show when you use VCDS

2012 Model year

   Part No SW: 1T0 959 701 AA    HW: 1T0 959 701 AA
   Component: Tuer-SG         009 2120

2006 Model year

   Part No: 1T0 959 701 C
   Component: Tuer-SG         024 2438

Even though both controllers are from an octavia, the two listed above would only work in the same model year

The car is a MK 1 , must of been registered late. That is what causes problems as everywhere thinks it's a mk2. The p/n with the suffix D was the original, B was the replacement. I've ordered a motor with the Suffix D (same p/n) , seller says it's from a 2007 mk1 ?

What does the B and D mean ? A later mod state ?

Also I realise this is the mk2 forum. Had the link stored when I had my mk2 and posted on auto-pilot - apologies for using the wrong forum.

In a nutshell - the car is a 55 plate vRS mk1 estate , P/N: 1U6959801D is the failed unit, same number with a suffix B does not work (from an 03 Octavia). Can anything be done through VCDS ? What does the suffix B and D denote ?

Cheers

Mule

So from doing more google research the end letter is indeed a mod code. Even if they share the same base P/N they are not necessarily interchangeable so I'm guessing the B and D is the issue. Will find out in a couple of days !
