How to increase car performance ?

Recommended Posts

I understand from your answer that you have unlimited funds and only your satisfaction is the limit. In that case it is easier to buy another type of car, like a VW Polo GTI. I hope you can find one in Malta where you live...

what is bike carbs and how much horse power that car will get after i install it

how about fuel echonomy

Sorry but I just had to respond to this, the Skoda Felicia is a great old car with a push rod engine it was never built to be a boy racer just a good down to earth car that will last for a very long time if looked after (mine is 18 years old purchased new) for getbike carbs I have 2 bikes if you want to go fast buy a faster car and if you live in the UK then remember it's 70 MPH Max here.

You also need to remember if you go faster in a Felicia you will need better brakes and every other thing that go's with going fast like better suspension, tyres, OR you could buy yourself a motorcycle now for say 10 grand you could have a very fast thing and leave all your cars in your dust.

And you want to know about fuel economy and horse power they both go together with going faster.

Please trust me I am in my 70s and still ride my bikes have done since I was 16, I have done it and rode it and lost a lot of friends on the road, enjoy life and LIVE LONGER DRIVE A STD FELICIA ONE GREAT CAR.

Hi Newbie 100km/h is around 62 MPH that's not fast, my Felicia 1.3 MPI is plenty fast enough for the UK roads it will cruise the motorway at the legal timit 70MPH and have a little extra for overtaking, you do not say what model you have ?

I do not wish to be rude but is you car in good working order and set up right my reason for asking is if mine is fine for the UK roads then yours must be ok if it set up right for were you are and you say the roads are not good were you are.

I would not think putting on motorcycle carbs will give you any big advantage only more problems setting it up if using one, and if you use more than one carb then more problems setting up but then you maybe a skilled mechanic if so you then must know a lot more than me.

One final note if any one changes the STD carburetor and you can not understand the difference between weak and rich mixture then you could run the risk of damaging your engine especially if you run it far too weak then you run the risk of holing a piston, too rich and you end up with using more fuel and more, manufactures go to great lenth to get a cars carburation set up right with the STD exhaust.

Good luck let us know here the out come.

thank you for your advice and experience i hit about three or four times the 145km/h  and go down immediately to 100km/h or 90 cause of traffic or the road it just fine to me that car rich 80 to 100km/h i know what you mean by rich or weak mixture i have problem with 2dn stage of the carb it was stuck after remove it and fix it the car run too much gas and problem with spark plugs make carbon because the mixture was too rich because the idiots want to make me happy by putting  bigger gas screw than the original after some resarches  i know what cause the problem and put the original screws fuel echonomy become great the acceleration back to normal conditions but i ask to increase hourse power but as i see now i forget the idea

some people say to me that g40 system is fine to install in the car but this is illegal in my country to change the motor with another type they say to me you can only change if your car  model have diffrent motor capacity from 1.3 to 1.6 etc

and many others say to me the felicia motor is build for economic purpose so i asked if any one have sucess to tune his engine with low risk

Any engine can be souped up with a lot of money but I don't know any Felicia owner with a lot of cash and highly skilled to do it himself.. As many other similar topics, this one will end as a Malta chit chat.

Bike carbs or ITBS don't really increase bhp but improve mid range response

Generally you will be looking at thousands to gain a maximum of 30-40 bhp

Better cams, over bore, port and polish, stroking

Only to be considered if you want to turn it into a competition racer id say

the easiest way to get better acceleration is to fit the 1.6 engine that some felicia's were fitted with .AEE engine code but the easy way to get everything you need to do that is to buy a scrap 1.6 felicia and transfer everything off it.

there is no bolt on 20 bhp for a little 1.3 pushrod engine but making sure that the engine and fuel system is set to origional factory spec with no hidden problems  is a good start.

In terms of easiness, AEE engine is indeed a good choice. In terms of efficiency, that engine is underpowered and eats oil like any other VW.
