Hi all

Took delivery today of my Yeti Adventure

Still the problem on the maps, but on doing a lot of research I find that the V8 maps of western Europe don't have Croatia.

I dont know about V9 maps.

But unless some poorly educated individual decides that they accept that Croatia is in the EU and no further east than other countries covered

it looks as if the only solution is to get a Europe East map on SD card

The question is, and I cant find the answer anywhere is, if a SD card with a different region, but contiguous with the region stored

in the RNS-315, will it use the map data from the SD card as well as the data stored in memory, or is it the case of only one source can be used at a time ???

And if it is the latter, only one at a time, will the data on the SD card be used for stored destinations ???

ie, if when leaving the UK I use a stored destination on the Slovenien/ Croatian border, and then insert the SD card with Europe east maps once entering Germany, which is on the east maps card, if I then select from the menu the same stored destination from memory will it route to that destination

from the data on the SD card ??.

Thanks

Richard

Hi all

Took delivery today of my Yeti Adventure  That's good.

Still the problem on the maps, but on doing a lot of research I find that the V8 maps of western Europe don't have Croatia. That's correct, Croatia is included on the Eastern European maps.

I dont know about V9 maps. They would be the same as V8 maps, unless Croatia has moved recently.

But unless some poorly educated individual decides that they accept that Croatia is in the EU and no further east than other countries covered

it looks as if the only solution is to get a Europe East map on SD card That would be the way to do it, buy the correct maps for the area coverage you're going to visit.

The question is, and I cant find the answer anywhere is, if a SD card with a different region, but contiguous with the region stored

in the RNS-315, will it use the map data from the SD card as well as the data stored in memory, or is it the case of only one source can be used at a time ??? As far as I'm aware you can insert the Eastern European maps sd card and run them from the card, without overwriting the Western European maps stored on the internal flash memory. You'll be asked if you want to assign the card to your unit, and you should select "YES". Then it'll ask you if you want to install the maps to the unit, and you should select "NO", then use the maps data from the card.

And if it is the latter, only one at a time, will the data on the SD card be used for stored destinations ??? I have no idea.

ie, if when leaving the UK I use a stored destination on the Slovenien/ Croatian border, and then insert the SD card with Europe east maps once entering Germany, which is on the east maps card, if I then select from the menu the same stored destination from memory will it route to that destination

from the data on the SD card ??. Again, I have no idea.

Thanks

Richard You're welcome.

Does the Satnav have a traffic delay system? So that if the chosen route has a hold up the Satnav tells you the expected time you will be delayed and offers another quicker route.

Hi Rustynuts

I've gone thru that manual several times :(

I guess the only people you will know the answer are those who wrote the OS software for the RNS-315

and any users who have cause to use two regional maps, which would be those possibly in Central Europe, and possibly

north America if they have separated the USA from Canada, or if those are combined regions are combined , maybe North and Central America.

Not sure if this forum is used in those areas.

I guess its suck it and see,

It would be nice if there was feature to simulate the route,

and Expatman , I dont know if that feature is active or not

Cheers

Richard
