Full beam headlights

Hi guys I'm looking for a little help or advice please? I've just bought a 59 plate roomster 1.6 petrol and I drove it on Saturday and Sunday and had the full beam lights on at one point, however today they do not come on at all, when I push in the indicator lever forward nothing happens not even the internal light shows. Have I missed something here, or is it screwed already? Dipped headlights working fine

Are these projector headlights?  If so they only have one bulb with a shutter to give dipped beam.

Might the shutter control have given up?

I no longer have my Roomster so I can't check up but I wonder whether this might be the case?

Surely the idiot light would still work if that was the case?

Depends how it's triggered. If it detects whether the shutters have moved (or the relay which powers them - and I'm assuming that there probably is one) then it wouldn't come on.

It could even be a switch issue.

I'm basically clueless when it comes to stuff like that, thanks for the advice though, I've booked it in for next week, any idea what that kinda thing might cost?

Not a clue, I'm afraid.  If it's the column switch the part is going to be a bit steep but the work involved should be straightforward.  Otherwise, I'll have to pass.

Hopefully it won't be too bad.  We'd be interested to hear the outcome, though, it might help somebody else.
