Skoda Move and Fun - MPG Query

Setup the facelift infotainment app 'Skoda Move and Fun'  with my Android phone yesterday.

But the MPG seems to be limited to 49.9 mpg and won't go any higher. So when i take my foot off the gas you see the MPG rising but reaches 49.9 and stays there.

My average MPG now sitting at 49.9 as well when i know its much higher.

Am i missing something here? Seems pointless on the Citigo because i'd struggle to get any less than 49.9 mpg even if i tried to!

The same screen also shows miles left in tank, journey time which seems to be just fine.

Thanks

Have you tried reinstalling and repairing? I'm using the new move&fun app and have any of those limits apart from on the current mpg reading which tops out at 99.9 but I think that's normal on most cars.

I'll try repairing tonight then.

Tried using it again this morning only to find it would top out at 49.9 again, how strange

Cheers

I still have the same issue. I noticed when looking on the Google Play reviews others have the same issues, MPG is limited to 49.9 mpg! I'd struggle to get any less than that if i tried!

I am using an Android Device, do you have an iphone by any chance? Maybe the App is performing as it should for Apple devices?

Thanks

Yes, I'm using an iPhone. I think topping out at such a low figure, either 49.9 or 99.9 is poor given that car can do well over that in certain conditions. My wife has a Peugeot 2008 and that doesn't top out until 999.9.

Yea 49.9 is a complete waste of time on a Citigo, maybe if i was driving an M3 i would understand!

Strange though as the old PID wasn't like this. Hoping they will update the Android app soon to resolve this

I contacted Skoda UK regarding this and got this reply

"We're sorry to hear about this, and happy to pass along the feedback to our team. Would you please send us your contact details, as well as your registration number so we can have someone get in touch? A local retailer may also be able to assist you. You can find one here: (www.skoda.co.uk/find-a-retailer)."

Contact at the dealer was away so asked for more help and got:-

"Thanks for passing through your details. We will certainly have our Customer Care team review your case, and they will contact you if they are able to provide an answer. That said, we do recommend going to the retailer directly, as they may have more experience with this problem."

Managed to get to dealer (Startin Skoda @ Powick) on Saturday and they claim to have no knowledge of this issue and car is now booked in the the chief technician to look into!

Not convinced he will do anything so looked up the APP on Goggle Play and e-mailed the devlopers.

Will keep you informed (and yes I'm on Android too)

Well it just upgraded to version 1.1 today and now it won't even open. Christ what a joke....

Picked-up new Citigo yesterday.

App would not display any navigational maps, so I uninstalled and installed version 1.1.

As before, app won't even start.

Come back PID - all is forgiven...

I thought the faulty bluetooth playback on my PID was annoying!! Sort of glad I didn't go for an MY17 now, feel sorry for all of you guys stuffed with this app :(

You would have thought they would test it before releasing an update that does not even allow you to open! It will get sorted eventually but god knows when.

MY17 is worth it for the LED DRLs alone....

I do like the lights I will admit but I don't spend much time looking at the outside and as they look sort of the same with the lights off I'd be more annoyed about the crappy app! I hear they are face lifting again soon from my local dealer but I'm surprised they even notice they are selling Skoda's tbh so I'm not sure they know what they're on about.

Yep, did the update and it crashed. Uninstalled and re-installed now won't open at all. Response from Skoda UK was... " While we are eager to assist, we unfortunately do not develop the app as part of the ŠKODA UK team. You can email the development team here directly: [email protected]. Sorry to not be of more help! "

I.e. Not interested! Have e-mailed that address and will see what happens. Going back to dealer on Saturday to create merry hell!!

So can you still fit a PID on a 2017 model?

Reason I ask is looking through the window on the girl in works Citigo 2017 model is the cut out bit on the dash looks the same shape as the earlier models but assume they have done away with the little brass pins underneath allowing the base to connect to the car canbus.

I understood you can't fit the PID unit to the newer cars???

New update last night and App works again but now all the SatNav maps have disappeared....give me strength!!

And it still has the max 49.9 mpg bug as well. **** poor considering cars that use this app have been on the road for months now.

Likewise, installed the app the other day on my (android) phone and couldn't download any maps and the mpg is limited to 49.9! Ridiculous.

A friend at work today installed the app on his iPhone and that worked perfectly well with the car with MPG's of 60+ showing. That maxed out at 99.9 so it is an android app failure. Conversed with the dealer again today who say they will pursue this but cancelled the service appointment. Didn't see the point of wasting mine and their time over something they can't fix.

Not heard anymore from Skoda UK and waiting for a reply from Skoda Czech. This is their e-mail if anyone wants to join in hassling them..   [email protected]

Good luck!

Had a reply from Skoda CZ and essentially the gist was I should buy an iPhone. Not best pleased and did reply with a polite but firm rant.

Had a similar rant at my local dealer and result has been a phone call from Skoda CZ saying they have now logged a number of complaints and are working on a solution. This will the conveyed via the dealer. Watch this space I guess.

Latest update - the complaint didn't get logged properly and so two weeks wasted. I am "assured" that is is now logged properly and a solution is being developed. Anyone else given their dealer some stick over this?

I could be wrong but maybe it's "set" to only show a maximum of 49.9....Think about this, Skoda claim 65.4mpg (or whatever they quote) and your Citigo only hits 54.8mpg, too many people would try and take Skoda to small claims for mis-information! Maybe it's just their way of protecting themselves. Just my thoughts anyway!
