New SE and SE L Drive models released

Talking to my dealer today and thinking of trading in the Yeti for a new one, I was told that there are now 2 x new 'Drive' models replacing the standard SE and SE L models. Both now come with Amundsen SatNav with DAB, Heated Windscreen, Floor Mats, Front and Rear Parking Sensors. The SE also gets Matterhorn Wheels, Auto Dimming Mirror, Light and Rain Assist, Heated Front Seats, New Upholstery and Dash Insert. The SE L also gets LED rear Lights and Silver Roof rails.

 

There is an extra cost of £935 for the SE and £775 for the SE L but the additions are worth £2295 on the SE and £1850 on the SE L.

 

Standard orders are being upgraded to the Drive spec from now onwards.

 

Looks like a roll-out model before Yeti II arrives.

The memorable first Yeti could become a collectors item simply for its identifiable originality.

Maybe this is the 'facelift' that was alluded to around the same time the non-Outdoor model became unavailable to order. Are these definitely UK spec cars though? I'm pretty sure the Joy model is a standard trim on the skoda.cz site. They have always had more trim and colour options compared to the UK.

The Yeti has had superb residuals for a long time, so it will be interesting to see what happens. I think it will continue to be sought after as a used buy.

I have been looking for a replacement for my 2012 Yeti for some time. I must have looked at every current contender and the problem I have found (so far) is that nothing has the same internal size within a Yeti sized body. Competitors are either larger externally for about the same internal size as a Yeti - Quashquai etc, or if a similar external size to the Yeti are smaller inside - CX3 etc. I really don't want, or need, a larger external vehicle (like Seat Ateca etc.) but I need the internal size of the current Yeti. I suspect the new Yeti will be very similar external size to the Ateca so bigger than I want. For that reason I might be persuaded to buy a run-out model of the existing Yeti if the price is right and spec can be tailored to what I need. Might not have all the latest technology but that's life!

Agree the "Joy" versions have been pretty std in Europe for at least the last 5 years .... just the UK importer likes to be different, and no doubt charge handsomely for the privilege.

Has the Dealership you ordered it from called you to tell you that the Spec has changed and you are getting a 'Drive' model?

filling in Customer Satisfaction Surveys to be bothered with Customer Information. 'Simply Clever' or just not IT Savvy.

yeah same problem as me, all the others are too big. havnt looked at ateca yet is it much bigger? I don't know when the new yeti is due or how big its going to be. ive only done 27k on my 2012 1.2 se, so might keep it a bit longer.

I just think the 1.2 DSG 2 wheel drive Yeti looks a bit silly tarted up as an "outdoor rugged SUV"; when basically the 1.2 Tsi DSG is a road car, it's just a bit taller than a conventional hatchback which is what I, and I suspect most 1.2 DSG drivers, want the car to be.

I notice that in the rest of Europe you can buy a Drive version of the City Yeti as well as the Outdoor Yeti - so why are we in the UK always treated as second rate customers by Skoda UK?

Because when the City version was available they sold hardly any of them, to the extent that dealers were offering silly offers to the few that they had imported.

Even if that's true as all cars are built to order nowadays Skoda UK should still offer the City version to those who want one. I have seen several City versions around here (North Yorkshire) and certainly think they are much smarter than the Outdoor rugged version with those awful silver mirrors. As I said before a 2 wheel drive1.2 Tsi auto is hardly the car anyone would buy as a rugged outdoor toughie SUV - or is it just image? I guess I am too old to be seduced by image, I leave that to deluded youngsters.
