1978 Skoda estelle 105

26th December this car was advertised for sale near Edinburgh in Scotland. I live in Penzance, Cornwall, and today, a good friend of mine who has a recovery lorry went and collected it. It's currently on the way back to Cornwall tonight and tomorrow with overnight pitstop.

I am looking forward to fixing and driving the old girl. I used to own a 1987 Skoda estelle 120L 5 years ago, and I love the cars. Glad to find one of the early series car.

I will not be fully restoring, but I will be sympathetically improving it, and using it 2-3 days a week.

More details to follow once work commences.

My dad had 3 first one from 77 , and I learned to drive in it , happy memories , the first one with Russian tyres was best in the snow , less snow wig Goodyear Grand Prix s tyres fitted to the later models , enjoy

I'll be honest, I only brought the estelle because it was £500 cheaper to insure than anything else. £450 compared to £950, I was only 20/21 at the time. It has left a lasting impression on me and have always wanted another but the main thing that stopped me was money. The second I seen this one I said to myself, that's the car I want.

Hi Robert

Back in the 1977 and newly married I wanted a bank loan for a decent car to get me to work.  The banks back then did not like to take risks on loaning people money.  (Wow how times change.)

So I could only have a personal loan if it was for a car under five years old. my first Skoda was a 1975 110L , I wanted a coupe but couldn’t find one in my price range. That Skoda was the first of four. I’m also in Cornwall hope to see you driving about keep an eye open for a maroon Favorit Estate and give us a toot. I’m also near Penzance .
