Damaged Wing mirror

Recommended Posts

Whilst reversing up the drive on a cold wet morning having moved to let hubby go out in his red citigo I bashed my wing mirror on the chimney breast!  The mirror is intact and all the electrics work but the whole unit has been pushed into the door, the triangular bit it is mounted on is in at the door frame and out at the window.  Has anyone suffered the same mishap and managed to repair it themselves or is it an expensive trip to the Skoda doctor.

Thanks

Hi, have you got any photos to get a picture of what has happened?

now Hubby has had a look in daylight unfortunately we need a whole new wing mirror, which has been ordered!  Hopefully once we get the new one and get the trim off the inside it will be self evident how the new one fits.  We are fairly good at mechanics but if you have any handy hints that would help we would be extremely grateful.

Thanking you for your post.

Ah that's unfortunate, without looking at my car to remind me, I'm sure you have a screw on the inside, which is behind the plastic trim where the alarm light sits, which will pull off with some muscle and on the outside, I think the other screws may be more noticeable

Also small edit - I looked on ebay and you should have just 2 screws holding it all in, that one behind the plastic trim I mentioned and then another which I think it's visible.
